Position: Lifeguard

Reports to: Lead Lifeguard

Job Description: Lifeguards must ensure the safety of the patrons in the pool area by taking preventative measures such as enforcing rules, recognizing and reacting quickly and efficiently to emergencies, maintaining constant surveillance, conducting regular pool safety checks, and providing emergency care to patrons in need.

Duties and Responsibilities:

● Maintains constant surveillance of patrons in the facility; acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of an emergency.

● Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.

● Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times and maintains a high standard of customer service.

● Performs various maintenance and cleaning duties as directed, to maintain a clean and safe facility.

● Be proficient in the use of all pool safety equipment.

● Ability to follow rules and regulations as assigned by supervisor.

● Prepares and maintains appropriate activity reports.

● Maintains appropriate communication with members and their guests.

● Communicate with supervisor concerning any equipment needing repair or replacement.

● Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Hours: Work schedule requires some flexibility, is dependent upon program needs and will include mornings, evenings and/or Saturdays.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

● Ability to be proactive and use independent judgment and initiative.

Working Conditions: Pressures and stress of the position include: dealing with challenging situations, working outdoors for multiple hours in the summer, and dealing with medical emergencies.

This position may require the lifting of 20-50 pounds.

West Coast Limousine lifeguard/swim instructor job description

WEST Coast Aquatics is seeking a personable individual to work as our full time lifeguard & Swim Instructor. As a customer service position, this role works closely with swimmers and patrons, and the ideal individual must be friendly and polite while enforcing facility rules and policies.
Compensation
Base Pay: This is an hourly position with 32 - 36 hours per week and the pay rate will reflect the experience and qualifications of the applicant.
End-Of-Year Bonus: during profitable years, the board will award a portion of profits to be split between employees based on individual performance, contribution and longevity.

Swim Instructor Duties
Teaching competitive swimming techniques, swimming strokes, and water safety rules to students with varying swimming abilities.
Instructing more experienced swimmers to enhance their swimming abilities.
Assessing the progress of students and adjusting teaching methods accordingly.
Monitoring students to prevent accidents and injuries.
Implementing ground rules for each swim session.
Planning swimming lessons that take into account students' abilities and progressive development.
Identifying incorrect swimming techniques and correcting students accordingly.
Ensuring that the swimming pool and teaching area is kept clean and tidy.

Lifeguard Duties
Overseeing activities at the aquatic facility.

Saturday 3:00 - 7:00pm lifeguarding.

*Schedule shifts during summer months end of June - Mid August.

LIFEGUARD/ SWIM INSTRUCTOR

JOB KNOWLEDGE, CORE COMPETENCIES AND EXPECTATIONS:
* Must be a capable and proficient swimmer, as well as, lifeguard and CPR certified professional.
