Its general acute care hospitals provide internal medicine, general surgery, cardiology, oncology, orthopedics, obstetrics, rehabilitation, subacute care, and diagnostic and emergency services. The company s hospitals also offer outpatient and ancillary healthcare services, such as outpatient surgery, laboratory, radiology, respiratory therapy, home healthcare, and physical therapy. Further it provides management services primarily to nonurban hospitals that are not owned or leased by it. The company was formerly known as Principal Hospital Company and changed its name to Province Healthcare Company in January, 1998. The company was founded in 1996 and is based in Brentwood, Tennessee. As of April 15, 2005, Province Healthcare Company, LLC operates as a subsidiary of LifePoint Health, Inc.
