Brief Job Description:
The Mental Health Technician is the direct care staff of the Adult Crisis Stabilization Unit, which is a 24 hour program.
Responsible for ensuring the safety of the clients, coordinating mental health evaluations, answering 988 Lifeline calls, and maintaining client care.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Supervise residents ensuring that they are safe and secure at all times
Answering 988 Lifeline Calls
Document resident daily activities
Complete admission/discharges
Coordinate evaluations with clients and community partners
Engage with clients through recreational activities
Assist residents in utilizing acceptable coping skills
Contribute to general cleanliness of the facility
Supervise medication administration
Follow policies and procedures of the ACSU
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent;
valid Kentucky driver's license and proof of insurance;
acceptable background check (yearly)

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Hourly pay is $19.28 and up based on experience. This position offers a 10% premium pay on top of base pay rate. With 10% premium pay, hourly rate is $21.21 and up based on experience.
Potential candidates will be providing engagement and case management services to consumers at KCIW and KSR to assist with linking to needed services upon release. Engagement begins 90 days pre-release.
1. Conducts and documents comprehensive assessment of client and/or client's needs.
2. Participates in development of client's service plan, consistent with assessment.
3. Arranges for delivery of needed services, as identified in assessment.
4. Assists client in accessing needed services through, for example, referrals or linkages.
5. Monitors client's progress by making referrals, tracking client's appointments, performing follow-up on services rendered, and performing periodic reassessments of client's changing needs.
6. Performs advocacy activities on behalf of client (e. g., writing letters to expedite entitlement payments, encouraging client or family members to advocate on own behalf).
7. Prepares and maintains case records documenting contacts, services needed, reports, client's progress, etc., in accordance with SCS and regulatory standards.
8. Provides case consultation (i. e., consulting with service providers/collaterals in determining client's status and progress).
9. Communicates with supervisor about issues related to case management, resourcing, service collaboration, and development of new resources.
10. Provides psychosocial education to clients and/or family members to increase their understanding of client's illness, physical condition, or social situation.
EDUCATION
· Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, or related field as approved by Medicaid, or as required by applicable funding source.
· Completion of state-required case management/service coordination course within six months of date of employment.
- Must be able to complete the DOJ training for working inside the prison.
EXPERIENCE
ADULT DIVISION: At least one (1) year of full-time employment experience post Bachelor's working directly with adults or ACT population (with direct daily contact) in a human service setting, with relevant Master's degree, no experience.

Secures information about client's financial status or insurance coverage and, as needed, completes insurance forms, verifies insurance coverage, and secures other relevant information. Answers inquiries from clients, doctors' offices, or third-party payers and follows through to resolution. Understands and explains to clients and their families the charges, services, and bill payment policies applicable to them. Performs various administrative functions to complete and expedite the billing process including, but not limited to, recording client identification data and physician diagnosis, investigating charges, correcting and updating data, and preparing the claim to bill. Resolves billing problems and/or receives insurance updates.
EDUCATION
Completion of up to 18 months' additional business education beyond high school.
EXPERIENCE
Two to three years of related administrative experience in an insurance or managed care setting.
Requires excellent observation skills, analytical thinking, problem solving and good verbal and written communication skills.
Basic knowledge of managed care and reimbursement concepts.
Knowledgeable of medical terminology, CPT, HCPC, and revenue codes.
Excellent customer service skills.
Typing speed of 45 - 55 word units per minute.

Bachelor's Degree (Master Degree Preferred) in related field coupled with relevant experience to include: Clinical Program Leadership, Organizational Leadership, Operations Management, Addiction Services, Social Work or other field of study and demonstrated experience. Thorough knowledge of financial analysis, budget development and administration and related business activities preferably in field of Addiction Treatment. Knowledge of program development, grant writing, and community organization. Good public relations and public speaking skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Good supervisory skills. Thorough knowledge of regulatory codes and accreditation standards. Reliable transportation for daily travel between work sites.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Maintenance of Health Record
1. Understands the electronic health record system and the documentation requirements for a legal health record based on licensure and accreditation standards.
2. Ensures access to the client's complete health record within the current hybrid record system by accurately completing record location, retention and transfer.
3. Protects the security/privacy of the EMR and paper medical records to ensure that confidentiality is maintained by following Federal, HIPAA, Joint Commission regulations, and SCS procedure.
4. Compiles and maintains existing paper and electronic health record to ensure accurate documentation for timely client care.
5. Maintains paper records per filing and archiving procedures.
Release of Information
6. Safeguards and protects the client privacy by verifying the requestor type and release requirements in accordance with federal HIPAA and ROI guidelines.
7. Fulfills all requests for release of information by locating and retrieving the corresponding client PHI, in both electronic and paper format.
8. Reproduces the requested health information within established timeframes, using a variety of technologies, including photocopies, scanners and facsimiles.
9. Interprets and responds to requests for health information by answering questions and request of clients, staff, law firms, insurance companies, and government agencies through e-mail, phone calls, facsimile and face to face communication.
10. Generates cover letters, pre-payment notices and invoices to the requestor, as necessary.
Quantitative Analysis of Legal Health Record
11. Conducts quantitative analysis on content of legal health record for required documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with regulation, standards and SCS procedure.
12. Maintains PC tracking systems and generates electronic reports to monitor completeness of the legal health record.
13. Notifies providers and clinical supervisors of documentation deficiencies.
14. Notifies Office Manager of identified event changes as necessary.
Scanning of Health Record
15. Accurately identifies documentation for scanning into the electronic record.
16. Prepares documentation prior to scanning into the client record.
17. Performs accuracy and quality checks on scanned items prior to submitting to the electronic health record.
18. Monitors for scanning errors and follows correction process.

Under general supervision, performs assessment and/or reassessment services, for individuals with DD/ID who reside in the community, to assist in the determination of Level of Care Criteria for entrance into and recertification in the Michelle P. Waiver (MPW).
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Conducts MPW assessment, including a face-to-face visit with the individual in the home within the 14 day deadline, or other deadline, as established by state criteria.
2. Assesses and documents the individual's physical health, mental health, social supports, and environment, using assessment tool designated by the state.
3. Observes and interviews the individual and his or her representatives or family members to identify the needs and services that the recipient or recipient's family cannot manage or arrange on the individual's behalf.
4. Explains paperwork to the individual, and/or guardian, and has them complete the Freedom of Choice form, along with other state and agency required paperwork, at the face-to-face assessment visit.
5. Provides potential MPW recipients and/or family members with information about the MPW and available case management providers.
6. Arranges for submission of the MPW evaluation to the Quality Improvement Organization, which determines the Level-of-Care approval or denial, and the assessment and/or reassessment to the respective MPW provider upon approval of the Level of Care.
7. Assists the individual with the appeal procedures in the event of a Level-of-Care denial and upon the request of the individual or his or her family.

Brief Job Description:
Provide psychiatric services to adolescent and adult psychiatric patients of LifeSkills under the supervision of a Licensed Psychiatrist such as psychiatric evaluation, med management, consultation and collateral services to referred patients.
Position will be primarily in Bowling Green with limited travel.
Education:
Master's degree or post-graduate degree in nursing, certification, & licensure required.
Licensure:
Kentucky APRN license or APRN license in a State recognized by the Kentucky Nurse Licensure Compact Act required effective June 1, 2007.
Kentucky DEA license
Qualifications:
Completion of all requirements to practice as an Adult and/or Family Psychiatric and Mental Health Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner
Valid driver's license and current automobile insurance.

LifeSkills, Inc. - Internship program I. INTRODUCTION Program overview -- LifeSkills, Inc. routinely has interns and practicum students fulfill some functions within our agency. This packet is intended to provide guidelines for
students and staff regarding the different types of internships, application procedures,
travel requirements, and other pertinent information about the internship program.
LifeSkills has operated in Bowling Green and the 10 surrounding counties since 1966.
During this time LifeSkills has distinguished itself as a leader among Community Mental
Health Centers in Kentucky for our consistent use of new and innovative approaches in
the treatment of Behavioral Health disorders. In keeping with this leadership role
LifeSkills strives to offer quality educational internship experiences to individuals
seeking to further their expertise and advancement in a variety of mental health fields and
settings.
Each of the freestanding clinics in our 10 county region is staffed with fully certified
and/or licensed Psychologist, Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists, and/or
Professional Counselors. During the course of an internship, an individual may also
come in contact with Psychiatrists, Psychiatric nurses, occupational therapists, speech
therapists, school counselors, vocational rehabilitation counselors, and/or recreational
therapists. Each of these professionals offers a unique perspective and approach to the
identification, understanding, and treatment of individuals with behavioral health
disorders from which the intern can gain insight and understanding.
Interns will receive exposure to a wide range of mental health problems and treatment
approaches. Practical experience in working with children, adolescents, and adults may
be offered. An integral part of any internship program is the clinical supervision. Interns
will be assigned a primary clinical supervisor with whom they will be responsible to for
all aspects of their clinical work. Each intern will also be assigned an administrative
supervisor or mentor that may or may not be the clinical supervisor. This mentor will
provide oversight and supervision to all aspects of the intern's duties and will work in
consultation with the primary clinical supervisor when they are not the same person.
All interns will receive training in traditional mental health theory and practice as well as
some new and innovative treatment options. Master's level training will include
instruction and practice of individual, group, and family therapy. More specialized
training may also be offered for interns in particular fields of study (e.g. Psychology
interns will receive training in the performing of psychological testing and measurement).
Other possible areas for specialized training include domestic violence, juvenile sexual
abuse and offending, substance abuse, geriatric patients, etc.
Internships are educational experiences offered in conjunction with LifeSkills and a
University as part of a student's overall educational program. As such interns are
required to have University approval and supervision to be considered for an internship
and must provide liability insurance through the university.

in the behavioral health field.
2. Each intern will develop an understanding of the benefits and need for and
interdisciplinary team approach to behavioral health treatment
3. Interns will develop knowledge and skills that will prepare them to enter the
work force in a variety of capacities.
4. To develop specialized skills as the needs of the individual dictate.
5. To provide a variety of clinical experiences to allow the intern to compare
