LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is looking for individuals to join our team as Part-Time Medical Courier in Brooksville, FL. This position is responsible for issues related to the shipment and delivery of blood and blood components.
8 hour shifts, 3 days a week; Must be able to work a varied schedule; nights, weekends, and on-call hours are required.
Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to)
- Review shipping notices, orders and other records to determine priorities and shipping methods required to meet scheduled deadlines
- Receive and carry out blood orders from hospitals and other customers
- Inspect and evaluate blood products to ensure they are safe, pure and potent
- Package and deliver blood products to service area clients or to other transportation agencies
- Run errands, deliver documents, pick up supplies and transport small items for repair when necessary
- Assist Hospital Services Team Leader with resolving problems in a timely manner according to LifeSouth Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
- Provide the highest level of customer service to internal and external customers
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license. Must also meet and maintain LifeSouth driver's eligibility requirements
- Must be able to work a varied schedule. Some night, weekend and on-call hours are required
- Ability to organize and manage time effectively
- Excellent teamwork skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals and instructions
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Must be able to do basic math, including addition, subtraction, proportion, percentages, etc.
- Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, walking, lifting up to 70 pounds, grasping and repetitive motion. Occasional stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, climbing, overhead lifting

LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is currently seeking an individual to join our team as a Courier in Tampa, FL. This position is responsible for transporting blood and blood products to and from customers and other LifeSouth branches. This position is also responsible for preparing items for shipment, verifying, and keeping records on incoming and outgoing materials.
Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to)
- Inspect delivery vehicle daily ensuring all supplies are present, cleanliness, it is in proper operating condition and in compliance with all state and local laws
- Package and deliver blood products to service area clients or to other transportation agencies
- Collect blood products from mobile drawing sites or area clients and deliver products to components laboratory
- Run errands, deliver documents, pick up supplies and transport small items for repair
- Load/unload and deliver materials to and/or from the branch and customers
- Operate hand truck to move shipments
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license. Must also meet and maintain LifeSouth driver's eligibility requirements

· Deliver all daily picks to your branch at the end of your shift
· Handle all specimens and lab samples in safe and efficient manner

· Work directly with dispatcher for additional pick-ups as needed
· Evaluate traffic patterns, alternative routes and weather conditions as needed
Job Requirements:
· High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred
· 3+ years Previous driver/courier experience is required
· Customer service experience is plus
· Must have a Valid Driver's License
· Must be at least 21 years' old
· Very punctual and strong time management skills

Responsibilities

Deliver inventory to specified points within a designated route (may include branches, hospitals, field trip sites, headquarters, & mobile units); may be required to deliver (travel with) packages utilizing public transportation in emergency situations (e.g. airline, bus, train etc.)
Keep log of items received and delivered; document daily activities as required
Conduct basic safety/readiness checks of assigned vehicle prior to departure per SOP; report any problems or mechanical issues
Work as back-up on-call driver for other shifts or routes as needed
Notify supervisor of any concerns, issues and/or delays
Qualifications

Job Description
Provides safe transport of laboratory specimens, documents, and laboratory materials within the community, including Children's Healthcare of Atlanta locations and community physician practices. Proactively supports efforts that ensures delivery of safe patient care and services and promote a safe environment at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
Experience
* 1 year of parking or transportation experience
Preferred Qualifications
* Commercial driver's license
Education
* High school diploma or equivalent

Job Responsibilities
* Responsible for operating and driving Children's vehicles throughout the organization's premises as needed and to specified locations.
* Facilitate the pick-up and delivery of medical specimens, documents, and supplies among healthcare facilities, laboratories, and designated locations.
* Ensure timely deliveries while adhering to healthcare regulations and safety standards.
* Handle and transport medical specimens with precision, strictly following safety and storage protocols.
* Maintain detailed records of deliveries and pickups, noting any issues or discrepancies.
* Foster clear and professional communication with laboratory staff, team members, and other departments to ensure seamless operations.
* Conduct routine vehicle inspections, ensuring the vehicle is clean, well-maintained, and equipped with necessary supplies.
* Comply with all laboratory policies and procedures concerning specimen transport.
