Ensures that the course's specialized machinery is in excellent working order through preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and timely repairs so the course maintains a high-quality playing surface. Example of Duties Performs equipment repair and maintenance on golf carts, mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, and other golf course machinery; tunes and overhaul engines, rebuilds and replaces hydraulic systems, change fluids, and replace lights, tires, batteries, electrical system, engines, carbonators, fuel systems, steering, brakes, belts, chassis, etc. Diagnosis mechanical problems. Completes precision tasks like grinding and adjusting mower reels and blades to maintain the ideal turf quality. Coordinates and/or participates in training. Trains staff. Performs golf cart and vehicle body repair. Maintains inventory of parts and supplies, orders new parts as needed, and keeps accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities. Adheres to safety protocols, maintains a clean and organized workshop, and disposes of oils and fluids responsibly. Coordinates and manages vehicle and equipment preventative maintenance programs. Qualifications Education/Experience: Completion of secondary education (high school or GED) plus some additional vocational-technical training or other specialized formal education or equivalent in golf cart repair, construction, or equipment/vehicle mechanics and at least two years of experience in golf cart repair, mechanics, construction, or vehicular maintenance and repair or equivalent experience. Strong mechanical aptitude required. Attendance: Being present at work is an essential function of the position.
