INSTRUCTIONAL VISION
Specific teaching responsibilities of this role include:
Teach multiple sections of high school Spanish, possibly an elective, and a grade-level Crew/advisory each day.
All LCPS teachers lead an advisory (known as a “Crew”), morning or afternoon duty (yard supervision) up to 2 times per week, and either a guided study hall or designated ELD course depending on the need of the school and the teacher's specific licensure.
Demonstrate culturally responsive pedagogy which gives students the skills, practice, and daily opportunity to grapple with rigorous content each day and includes unrelenting high expectations and an assets-based approach for every student.
Plan, internalize, and implement adopted, effective, grade-level standards-based curriculum, units, and lessons that are learner-driven and maintain rigor.
Differentiate curriculum while still maintaining rigor to provide grade-level access and results for all student subgroups, including students with IEPs, English language learners, African-American, and Latinx students.
Utilize, collect, and analyze rigorous, student-engaged assessments, both formative and summative, to identify and address students' areas of growth and mastery of learning objectives. To include Altitude, Schoology, MAP, as well as others.

Build and maintain a classroom culture that is supportive and learning-centered, undergirded by strong management, efficient procedures, and systems, but most evident in the full inclusion of African-American boys, students with trauma, and students with IEPs in the social and learning community.

Position Summary Rocketship is hiring for the position of Office Manager (OM) for a Rocketship school. The Office Manager is the first point of contact for parents and students when they come to school, as well as a resource to the school community. The Office Manager should always exhibit professionalism, treat people with respect, and be firm but compassionate in how they address the day-to-day challenges of a rigorous and purposeful school. Enrollment, Student Information, and Attendance
Build strong working relationships with parents and families

Position Summary: Based in San Jose, CA and reporting to the Associate Director of Social Emotional Learning, the BCBA role will be a key contributor to the development of highly individualized Behavior Intervention Plans for the small percentage of students in special education who have not responded to earlier attempts at behavior intervention.
The BCBA will serve multiple school sites which may include schools in San Jose, Redwood City, Concord, or Antioch. The BCBA will partner closely with school psychologists, mental health providers, special education case managers, school leaders, and program specialists to conduct Functional Behavior Assessments, co-create Behavior Intervention Plans with IEP team members, and support with ongoing implementation and coaching of the plans to ensure fidelity. The BCBA will lead training to develop the mental health providers in their behavior expertise. The BCBA may also be involved in crisis level support and creation of safety plans for students with more significant safety concerns, as well as delivering professional development to Rocketship staff.
This position requires previous training and experience working with students with emotional and behavioral needs. It requires a commitment to serving students and a desire to think critically and creatively about how to support challenging behaviors in the general education classroom setting.
Essential Functions:
Duties will include, but not be limited to:
Conduct thorough and comprehensive Functional Behavior Assessments, including documenting findings and recommendations in a compliant report which will be filed in the student's special education file. FBA practices are to include: review of records, parent and teacher interviews, direct student observations for data collection, and coordination with school staff for additional behavior data collection.
Design and propose Behavior Intervention Plans, in collaboration and coordination with the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) team. Document the BIP in the special education database system (SEIS).
Design and propose informal behavior plans, in collaboration and coordination with the school personnel.
Collaborate and partner with Mental Health Providers to conduct quality Functional Behavior Assessments.
Provide ongoing coaching to teachers, ISE specialists, paraprofessionals, school staff, school leaders, and mental health providers regarding implementation of behavior interventions in all school settings.
Provide ongoing coaching to ISE specialists, paraprofessionals, and 1:1 aides regarding implementation of behavior intervention services.
Plan and conduct student progress meetings for students in general education with available data and information. Coordinate with school personnel to develop behavioral goals and objectives.
Consult with school leaders to determine behavior needs on campus and prioritize work.
Design and execute staff professional development opportunities related to behavior intervention strategies for a range of audiences (school leaders, special education teachers, program specialists, mental health providers, etc.)
Support consistent implementation of evidence-based behavior interventions in Rocketship schools, create user-friendly resources that support special education teams in the implementation of these interventions.

Position Summary: Based in San Jose, CA and reporting to the regional Wellness Manager, the Wellness Counselor will provide direct educationally related mental health services directly to students in special education, related mental health services to general education students, as well as providing consultation and coaching to school leaders and teachers regarding issues of trauma, mental health, behavior, and community resources. We have well built PBIS systems and routines at every campus as well as a well built out suite of social-emotional and behavior interventions. The Wellness Team is responsible for the ongoing elevation of these systems and structures as well as the delivery of many of these services including but not limited to: social-emotional learning, social-emotional & behavioral interventions and supports, and mental health services (including ERMHS). The Wellness Counselor will serve a single school site which may include schools in San Jose, Redwood City, Concord, or Antioch. The Wellness Counselor will partner closely with school psychologists, behavior intervention specialists, special education case managers, school leaders, general education teachers and program specialists to conduct mental health assessments, provide direct mental health services, and support with ongoing implementation and coaching of strategies to help students succeed in their classrooms. The Wellness Counselor may also be involved in crisis level support and creation of safety plans for students with more significant safety concerns, as well as delivering professional development to Rocketship staff. This position requires previous training and experience working with students with emotional and behavioral needs. It requires a commitment to serving students and a desire to think critically and creatively about how to support challenging behaviors in the general education classroom setting.
Essential Functions
Create treatment plans and goals to address educationally related mental health service for the purposes of fostering better mental health and positive learning environments for students at all Tiers (Social Skills Groups, Gen-Ed Counseling, ERMHS related services).
Monitor student progress toward IEP goal attainment (for ERMHS services) using a special education database system (SEIS).
Provide culturally appropriate and sensitive school-based mental health services in the forms of individual, group, and family treatment, therapeutic case management, crisis intervention, and consultation services as required by the student's IEP or general education plan.
Provide crisis intervention for both general education students and special education students as needed.
Collaborate with and be a part of any coordinated meetings (IEP meetings for students on caseload, SST meetings, MTSS meetings) as the mental health professional.
Provide consultation with parents, teachers, and other appropriate staff regarding the student's program and any adaptations/materials needed to facilitate improved performance in the classroom or at home.
Maintain relationships and effectively communicate with school leaders, teachers, and parents in all facets of the position.
Adhere to IDEA timelines and California Education Code compliance law.
Provide professional development training to school staff as-needed regarding best practices in trauma-informed education, social-emotional supports, crisis intervention, and community resources.

Serve as the mental health professional on the PBIS Team. Play an active role in ensuring the team uses data to create and address plans to further the campus around positive behavior incentive systems.
Support on-site Wellness Counselor Intern in problem solving and delivering effective interventions to staff and students (as applicable).
Maintain a close working relationship with other members of the Network Support Team (NeST-Rocketship's centralized office that operates in support of its schools and regions), school directors, ISE Team, other MTSS Team members, and all school staff (teachers, school leaders, support staff, etc.).

Position Summary Rocketship is hiring for the position of Office Manager (OM) for a Rocketship school. The Office Manager is the first point of contact for parents and students when they come to school, as well as a resource to the school community. The Office Manager should always exhibit professionalism, treat people with respect, and be firm but compassionate in how they address the day-to-day challenges of a rigorous and purposeful school. Essential Functions:
Enrollment, Student Information, and Attendance
Build strong working relationships with parents and families
Create and maintain complete and current student cumulative files
Enter student information into our student information system and keep this information up-to-date throughout the school year as enrollment or information changes
Manage the Attendance process including contacting absent parents on a daily basis
Coordinate the school's truancy process and communicate with parents as needed
Administer Independent Study process for students with planned absences
Collect doctor's notes and excused absence notes from parents for absentee documentation
Work with current parents to solve problems and prevent student attrition
Health, Safety and Discipline
Maintain emergency medical and contact information for all students
Maintain complete and current immunization records for all students
Administer basic first aid, distribute medication, maintain injury reports Be knowledgeable of all content in school safety binder, including emergency procedures
Report all injuries and other school incidents to Human Resources
Supervise students sent to the office for discipline and health reasons
Meals, Finance and Facilities
Collect payments from parents
Manage collection of free/reduced-lunch application forms from all families during the school year
Collect lunch, uniform sales money from parents and provide receipts for payments
Assist in managing and reporting day-to-day facilities problems
Execute responsibilities related to emergency situations as assigned by the Principal
ISE/Special Education
Act as an intermediary to communicate written or oral information given by parents to the ISE team
Ensure that all documents delivered or messages received are immediately given to ISE
Maintain confidentiality regarding ISE students who receive special education services
Partner with ISE Specialists on a school site to arrange IEP or ISE meetings
Administrative
Perform general clerical duties including answering phones, taking and distributing messages, sorting mail, translate documents from English to Spanish and prepare general correspondence
Facilitate arrangements for school activities, logistics, teacher development, parent development and other activities
Provide support to the Principal and teachers as necessary Use automated telephone system to send out school information as necessary
Act as an interpreter, when necessary, in whole-school functions and smaller meetings
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Spanish/English bilingual fluency required, with excellent written and oral communication skills
Knowledge and cultural competence of the local student and parent community
Highly developed interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy
Effectively prioritize and juggle multiple concurrent projects
Comfort in a start-up environment and ability to work independently with minimal direction
Ability to use a variety of software programs and quickly learn new ones
Managerial skills preferred

Position DescriptionThe Elementary Athletics Instructor (Athletics Coach) is a full-time, hourly position designed for educators who are passionate about physical education, sports, and child development. The Athletics Coach leads engaging, inclusive PE classes that help students build strength, teamwork, and confidence while reinforcing Rocketship's core values. This role works with students across multiple grade levels throughout the day and collaborates closely with classroom teachers and school leaders to promote physical health and social-emotional growth.
This position reports to an Assistant Principal
(or Business Operations Manager, depending on school site).
Essential Functions:
The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
Motivate students to actively participate in physical activities and lessons; create a positive, engaging classroom environment; and maintain high behavioral expectations for all students.
Follow network guidelines for curriculum implementation (including scope and sequence maps, unit plans, and lesson plans), adapting as needed to meet the developmental needs of each grade level.
Differentiate instruction by age and grade to ensure activities are developmentally appropriate and accessible to all students.
Collaborate with school staff to promote a positive school culture grounded in Rocketship's core values: respect, responsibility, persistence, and empathy.
Serve as the lead instructor for large group lessons focused on physical education, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Communicate and collaborate with fellow Enrichment Center Coordinators (ECCs), teachers, and school leaders; actively participate in professional development as a member of the Rocketship team.
Maintain a positive and productive learning environment by enforcing campus safety rules and behavioral expectations; respond appropriately to occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids, or situations requiring additional student support.
Inventory, organize, and maintain Enrichment Center equipment and materials to ensure a safe and well-stocked learning environment.
Support arrival, dismissal, lunch, and/or recess duties as needed to ensure smooth school operations and student safety.
Required Qualifications:
Passion for working with children and the ability to motivate, support, and inspire them to reach high levels of success.
At least 2 years of college coursework required, or a high school diploma and ability to pass a Paraprofessional assessment during onboarding (prior to start).
Experience or training working with youth in an educational, recreational, or coaching capacity.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate effectively with a wide range of staff members and students.
Fluency in English required; bilingual proficiency in Spanish or other languages is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications/Ideal Candidate:
Experience managing or teaching groups of 25 or more elementary-aged students.
Content expertise in physical education, athletics, or a related field.
Belief in the value of enrichment education and its role in supporting the whole child.
