Maintain a high level of rigor for students with disabilities in order to ensure equitable access to common core state standards and/or alternate curriculum standards

Position Summary Rocketship is hiring for the position of Office Manager (OM) for a Rocketship school. The Office Manager is the first point of contact for parents and students when they come to school, as well as a resource to the school community. The Office Manager should always exhibit professionalism, treat people with respect, and be firm but compassionate in how they address the day-to-day challenges of a rigorous and purposeful school. Essential Functions:
Enrollment, Student Information, and Attendance
Build strong working relationships with parents and families
Create and maintain complete and current student cumulative files
Enter student information into our student information system and keep this information up-to-date throughout the school year as enrollment or information changes
Manage the Attendance process including contacting absent parents on a daily basis
Coordinate the school's truancy process and communicate with parents as needed
Administer Independent Study process for students with planned absences

Maintain emergency medical and contact information for all students

Rocketship school leadership teams each include a Principal and Assistant Principals focused on instruction, an Office Manager focused on student information and family engagement, and a school leader focused on all other operations aspects of running the school -- what some might call an “AP of Operations,” though we at Rocketship call it a Business Operations Manager (BOM).
The BOM reports directly to the Principal and manages a team of hourly Operations Specialists. As the Operations leader, the BOM is responsible for all aspects of student meals, recess, arrival, dismissal, physical space, and safety at their campus. Thus, the role requires not only the ability to manage “business” topics like logistics and compliance, but also a deep understanding of behavior management, culture-setting, and behavior management coaching.

Design and lead professional development for Operations Specialists focused on behavior management skill development.
Manage the physical space of the building and all facilities-related needs, including scheduling/meeting vendors and handling after-hours facilities emergencies.
Manage food service operations, including managing staff, serving as the main contact with meal vendor, ensuring compliance, conducting internal audits, and ensuring meal program financial health.

Support the logistical, compliance, and technology side of administration of Rocketship's assessments, including NWEA MAP and state tests, and health screenings like hearing and vision.

Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, with school-based experience strongly preferred. Many of our most successful BOMs have previously been teachers and/or School Leaders in other roles.
Managerial experience is strongly preferred. Leadership and/or coaching roles among other adults can potentially substitute for this.
Experience in a fast-paced, highly analytical, entrepreneurial environment. Ability to proactively manage multiple critical deadlines and quickly and confidently adapt to changing school needs, independently prioritizing and following through on completion of tasks and responsibilities. Demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented, organized, and resourceful.
Team-player attitude and strong customer-service orientation. Skill at communicating respectfully and empathetically with students' families. Spanish language proficiency preferred in many of our communities, but not required.
Skilled at building strong and trusting working relationships with people in both senior- and junior-level roles, both within and beyond Rocketship. Ability to treat sensitive issues with respect and empathy, and maintain strict confidentiality where required.

Our Integrated Special Education (ISE) team serves students across all disabilities (mild, moderate, and severe) through an innovative approach to special education that includes co-teaching and deep partnership with our general education partners and other instructional staff. To best serve our Rocketeers with severe needs, we have developed a Specialized Inclusion Program (SIP) that ensures our students can receive the necessary supports and services, while s ll spending a majority of their me in a general education setting. Through these innovative approaches, Rocketship has been able to realize significant academic gains for Rocketeers with disabilities while simultaneously experiencing an increase in the number of students receiving special education services within our schools (currently ranging from 7% to 18% across our regions).
The Role
Based in the Bay Area and reporting to the Director of Integrated Special Education (ISE), the Program Specialist will be a key strategic leader on the Schools team and critical to driving forward the quality of Integrated Special Education within Rocketship schools. The Program Specialist will drive school teams toward ensuring that all Rocketeers are served in a compliant, effective and high-quality environment, with the goal to achieve 1.5 years of growth (based on NWEA annually) in both math and literacy. In addition, with the broader Schools team, the Program Specialist will strive to continue to establish Rocketship as the premier national model for meaningful inclusion among charter schools and traditional districts. This collaborative role requires on-campus work, as well as work from our Bay Area Regional Office.
The compensation for this position starts at $98,000.
Essential Functions: School Support
* Support ISE team visions at school sites for network initiatives and school priorities in collaboration with school leaders and directors of schools.
* Regularly meet with schools leaders to develop, monitor, and adjust school-level special education instructional and compliance efforts.
* Co-develop and support the coaching plans for ISE teachers and ISE teams with the support of the managing school leader.
* Provide direct and indirect coaching support to ISE teams around instructional practice and compliance initiatives.
* Strategize together as a team with the Director of Special Education in order to prioritize special education supports.
* Collaborate and provide regular consultation with service providers and key contractors as needed.
* Coordination with El Dorado County Selpa around educational best practices, compliance initiatives, and er three litigious cases to support school sites.
* Work with ISE NeST across regions to align on network priorities and implementation.

* Provide ISE Managers with resources and expert guidance to support the data based decision making process to guide instructional planning.
* Support effective instructional planning through the selection of appropriate tiered interventions at school sites, consultation on implementation and planning, as well as the development of effective service schedules.
* Provide core instructional resources to school leaders and teachers to support student outcomes.
* Observe and provide feedback on teacher instructional execution.
* Support school leaders and teachers with effective co-teaching practices.

Position Summary: Based in San Jose, CA and reporting to the regional Wellness Manager, the Wellness Counselor will provide direct educationally related mental health services directly to students in special education, related mental health services to general education students, as well as providing consultation and coaching to school leaders and teachers regarding issues of trauma, mental health, behavior, and community resources. At Rocketship, we have made a strong historical commitment to the social-emotional development of our students as well as implementing best practices in supporting behavior. For multiple years, a regular daily component of our school day is a dedicated block to proactively teach social-emotional skills. We have well built PBIS systems and routines at every campus as well as a well built out suite of social-emotional and behavior interventions. The Wellness Team is responsible for the ongoing elevation of these systems and structures as well as the delivery of many of these services including but not limited to: social-emotional learning, social-emotional & behavioral interventions and supports, and mental health services (including ERMHS). The Wellness Counselor will serve a single school site which may include schools in San Jose, Redwood City, Concord, or Antioch. The Wellness Counselor will partner closely with school psychologists, behavior intervention specialists, special education case managers, school leaders, general education teachers and program specialists to conduct mental health assessments, provide direct mental health services, and support with ongoing implementation and coaching of strategies to help students succeed in their classrooms. The Wellness Counselor may also be involved in crisis level support and creation of safety plans for students with more significant safety concerns, as well as delivering professional development to Rocketship staff. This position requires previous training and experience working with students with emotional and behavioral needs. It requires a commitment to serving students and a desire to think critically and creatively about how to support challenging behaviors in the general education classroom setting.
Essential Functions
Create treatment plans and goals to address educationally related mental health service for the purposes of fostering better mental health and positive learning environments for students at all Tiers (Social Skills Groups, Gen-Ed Counseling, ERMHS related services).
Monitor student progress toward IEP goal attainment (for ERMHS services) using a special education database system (SEIS).
Provide culturally appropriate and sensitive school-based mental health services in the forms of individual, group, and family treatment, therapeutic case management, crisis intervention, and consultation services as required by the student's IEP or general education plan.
Provide crisis intervention for both general education students and special education students as needed.
Collaborate with and be a part of any coordinated meetings (IEP meetings for students on caseload, SST meetings, MTSS meetings) as the mental health professional.
Provide consultation with parents, teachers, and other appropriate staff regarding the student's program and any adaptations/materials needed to facilitate improved performance in the classroom or at home.
Maintain relationships and effectively communicate with school leaders, teachers, and parents in all facets of the position.
Adhere to IDEA timelines and California Education Code compliance law.
Provide professional development training to school staff as-needed regarding best practices in trauma-informed education, social-emotional supports, crisis intervention, and community resources.
Serve as a coach in regards to mental health and trauma informed practices (SEL, crisis and de-escalation, trauma informed practices at Tier 1 level). Provide in-the-moment-coaching to staff around these practices.
Lead parent trainings to teach skills in regards to supporting a student's mental health and social emotional learning.
Serve as the mental health professional on the PBIS Team. Play an active role in ensuring the team uses data to create and address plans to further the campus around positive behavior incentive systems.
Support on-site Wellness Counselor Intern in problem solving and delivering effective interventions to staff and students (as applicable).
Maintain a close working relationship with other members of the Network Support Team (NeST-Rocketship's centralized office that operates in support of its schools and regions), school directors, ISE Team, other MTSS Team members, and all school staff (teachers, school leaders, support staff, etc.).
Ensure the Wellness Team is viewed as positive supports to the organization's mission that are fully aligned with Rocketship's Core Characteristics (Innovation, Pursuit of Excellence, Authenticity, Community, and Tenacity), and not as bureaucratic obstacles to serving the needs of the students.

Position Summary: Based in San Jose, CA and reporting to the Wellness Team University Field Instructors , the Wellness Counselor Intern will provide direct mental health services to general education students, as well as providing consultation and coaching to school leaders and teachers regarding trauma, social-emotional learning, mental health, behavior, and community resources. The Wellness Counselor Intern will serve one to two school sites which may include schools in San Jose, Redwood City, Concord, or Antioch.
The Wellness Counselor Intern will partner closely with school psychologists, behavior intervention specialists, special education case managers, school leaders, general education teachers and program specialists to provide direct mental health services and support with ongoing implementation and coaching of strategies to help students succeed in their classrooms. The Wellness Counselor Intern may also be involved in crisis level support and creation of safety plans for students with more significant safety concerns, as well as provide parent training and/or workshops to support students beyond the classroom.

Maintain case notes for student services provided in compliance with the state licensing board and professional code of ethics.

Maintain relationships and effectively communicate with school leaders, teachers, and parents in all facets of the position.
Ensure implementation and fidelity of behavior supports plans including creation, progress monitoring, and ongoing support.
Maintain a close working relationship with other members of the Network Support ISE Team (NeST-Rocketship's centralized office that operates in support of its schools and regions) to ensure exchange of best practices, coordination of efforts, and general support for the Integrated Special Education department.
Support with parent training to teach skills in regards to supporting a student's mental health and social emotional learning.

Position SummaryThe Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) works under the direction and supervision of the Associate Director of Speech-Language Services and will work with elementary school students grades TK-5th grade in screening, evaluating, diagnosing, and treating disorders of speech and language communication. Position Summary:
Based in San Jose, CA and reporting to the regional Wellness Manager, the Wellness Counselor will provide direct educationally related mental health services directly to students in special education, related mental health services to general education students, as well as providing consultation and coaching to school leaders and teachers regarding issues of trauma, mental health, behavior, and community resources. At Rocketship, we have made a strong historical commitment to the social-emotional development of our students as well as implementing best practices in supporting behavior. For multiple years, a regular daily component of our school day is a dedicated block to proactively teach social-emotional skills. We have well built PBIS systems and routines at every campus as well as a well built out suite of social-emotional and behavior interventions. The Wellness Team is responsible for the ongoing elevation of these systems and structures as well as the delivery of many of these services including but not limited to: social-emotional learning, social-emotional & behavioral interventions and supports, and mental health services (including ERMHS).
The Wellness Counselor will serve a single school site which may include schools in San Jose, Redwood City, Concord, or Antioch. The Wellness Counselor will partner closely with school psychologists, behavior intervention specialists, special education case managers, school leaders, general education teachers and program specialists to conduct mental health assessments, provide direct mental health services, and support with ongoing implementation and coaching of strategies to help students succeed in their classrooms. The Wellness Counselor may also be involved in crisis level support and creation of safety plans for students with more significant safety concerns, as well as delivering professional development to Rocketship staff.
This position requires previous training and experience working with students with emotional and behavioral needs. It requires a commitment to serving students and a desire to think critically and creatively about how to support challenging behaviors in the general education classroom setting.
Essential Functions
* Create treatment plans and goals to address educationally related mental health service for the purposes of fostering better mental health and positive learning environments for students at all Tiers (Social Skills Groups, Gen-Ed Counseling, ERMHS related services).
* Monitor student progress toward IEP goal attainment (for ERMHS services) using a special education database system (SEIS).
* Provide culturally appropriate and sensitive school-based mental health services in the forms of individual, group, and family treatment, therapeutic case management, crisis intervention, and consultation services as required by the student's IEP or general education plan.
* Provide crisis intervention for both general education students and special education students as needed.
* Collaborate with and be a part of any coordinated meetings (IEP meetings for students on caseload, SST meetings, MTSS meetings) as the mental health professional.
* Provide consultation with parents, teachers, and other appropriate staff regarding the student's program and any adaptations/materials needed to facilitate improved performance in the classroom or at home.
* Maintain relationships and effectively communicate with school leaders, teachers, and parents in all facets of the position.
* Adhere to IDEA timelines and California Education Code compliance law.
* Provide professional development training to school staff as-needed regarding best practices in trauma-informed education, social-emotional supports, crisis intervention, and community resources.
* Serve as a coach in regards to mental health and trauma informed practices (SEL, crisis and de-escalation, trauma informed practices at Tier 1 level). Provide in-the-moment-coaching to staff around these practices.
* Lead parent trainings to teach skills in regards to supporting a student's mental health and social emotional learning.
* Serve as the mental health professional on the PBIS Team. Play an active role in ensuring the team uses data to create and address plans to further the campus around positive behavior incentive systems.
* Support on-site Wellness Counselor Intern in problem solving and delivering effective interventions to staff and students (as applicable).
* Maintain a close working relationship with other members of the Network Support Team (NeST-Rocketship's centralized office that operates in support of its schools and regions), school directors, ISE Team, other MTSS Team members, and all school staff (teachers, school leaders, support staff, etc.).
* Ensure the Wellness Team is viewed as positive supports to the organization's mission that are fully aligned with Rocketship's Core Characteristics (Innovation, Pursuit of Excellence, Authenticity, Community, and Tenacity), and not as bureaucratic obstacles to serving the needs of the students.
Related Qualifications
* Required: Possession of valid license or associate level registration for one of the following: social worker, marriage family therapist, clinical counselor, psychologist, school counselor (PPS credential), or school psychologist, as defined by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences or relevant state licensing board
* Highly Preferred: PPS Credential in School Social Work or SchoolCounseling
* Highly Preferred: Experience in elementary schools, working with students with a range of disabilities (learning disabilities, emotional and behavioral disorders, autism, etc.), and familiarity with special education, IEP team participation and ERMHS
* At least one year of experience (2+ years preferred) providing mental health services in school-based settings
* Experience working with students with a range of disabilities (learning disabilities, emotional and behavioral disorders, autism, etc.) (highly preferred)
* Familiarity with special education, IEP team participation and educationally related mental health services and the delivery of such services (highly preferred)

* Familiarity with socio-emotional learning competencies, trauma informed education practices, multi-tiered systems of supports (MTSS), and restorative practices a plus
