We are positioned for continued growth and are seeking a senior-level Estimator who can play a critical role in driving profitability and ensuring accurate project forecasting.
Position Summary
The Senior HVAC Estimator will be a key contributor to Lightning Mechanicals growth strategy. This individual will be responsible not only for preparing accurate bids but also for shaping the companys estimating processes, guiding project selection, and contributing to overall business development strategy.
This is a high-impact role suited for a seasoned professional with the expertise to influence margins and secure profitable work for a growing company.
Responsibilities
Lead the full estimating process for commercial and industrial HVAC projects, from review of specs/drawings to final bid submission.
Develop detailed cost breakdowns including labor, equipment, subcontractors, and materials.
Partner with leadership to evaluate project opportunities, ensuring bids align with strategic growth objectives.
Provide value engineering solutions to keep bids competitive without compromising quality.
Build and maintain strong vendor and subcontractor networks to secure competitive pricing.
Standardize and improve estimating procedures and tools to drive efficiency and consistency.
Support business development by providing pricing insights and participating in client-facing discussions as needed.
Assist with AIA billing and project documentation as required.
Qualifications
Minimum 10 years of experience in HVAC estimating, with a proven track record in commercial and industrial projects.
Strong understanding of HVAC systems, equipment, and construction practices.
Familiarity with AIA billing processes (preferred).
Demonstrated ability to influence project selection and contribute to profitability strategies.
Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with leadership, PMs, and clients.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive salary: $110,000 $150,000 per year, commensurate with experience.

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced HVAC Pipefitter to join our team. In this role, you will build and maintain pipe systems in both residential and commercial settings. You will read blueprints, plan installations, and prepare pipes. The ideal candidate is analytical, with attention to detail and experience with pipes of a variety of materials. VRV/VRF a PLUS!
Responsibilities
Review and interpret blueprints to understand project requirements
Braze/solder copper parts and components using ASME brazing techniques
Able to install, service, and repair water source heat pump systems
Installation, repair, and maintenance of refrigeration systems, with particular expertise in handling the intricate network of pipes that carry refrigerants
Inspect and prepare sites for construction operations
Assemble and install piping systems such as ductile iron, PVC and steel, copper
Test system functionality
Repair any leaks or malfunctions
Use a variety of hand and power tools
Work with other construction professionals to complete projects
Follow all relevant safety guidelines
Qualifications
Previous experience as a HVAC Pipefitter is preferred

Support the preparation of submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project documentation.

Qualifications

Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Commercial HVAC Technician to join our team! In this role, you will install, service, or repair heating and air conditioning systems in commercial establishments. VRV/VRF a PLUS!

Responsibilities:
Repair or service heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to improve efficiency, such as by changing filters, cleaning ducts, or refilling non-toxic refrigerants
Extensive work with commercial HVAC systems, including chillers, rooftop units, and mechanical systems
Troubleshoot, calibrate and adjust pilots, thermostats and burners, transformers, controls, relays, heaters, elements, switches and controls on electrical systems
Use common tools of the HVAC trade in daily work (e.g. multimeter, refrigerant gauges, charging charts, hand tools etc.)
Ability to install, service, and repair water source heat pump systems
Establish customer rapport to ensure the highest levels of satisfaction
Ability to layout, fabricate, assemble, install, and maintain refrigerant piping systems, pipe supports, and fixtures in commercial and industrial settings
Test pipe or tubing joints or connections for leaks, using a pressure gauge or soap-and-water solution
Test electrical circuits or components for continuity, using electrical test equipment
Repair or replace defective equipment, components, or wiring
Qualifications:
5-10 years experience as an HVAC service technician
Valid Drivers License and clean driving record
EPA Certification
Experience with operation and maintenance of chillers, heat pumps, air handlers, and geothermal systems
Ability to climb ladders, crawl, and lift 50 pounds
