The Role at a Glance
We are excited to be hiring a Business Analyst to our Workspace Solutions - Retirement Plan Services (RPS) team. In this role, you will carry out the RPS Strategy through a dedicated agile pod working on prioritized projects for our Surround Systems Portfolio, which enables our Operations and Client Facing teams. You will also consult and collaborate with business stakeholders to define and validate business solutions that meet their needs, goals, and objectives
What you'll be doing
* Development of requirements: planning, prioritization, effort estimations and traceability to downstream and upstream teams/applications
* Write User Stories and act as liaison between Business and IT partners to ensure clear understanding of user stories and business requirements for design
* Assist with data mapping to support requirements gathering needed for business use cases
* Consult, collaborate, and serve as a resource to team members and key internal and/or external stakeholders to elicit more complex business issues, determine root cause(s), and capture business needs
* Lead analysis of data to uncover insights, trends, and opportunities that inform business decisions
* Drive creation of process models and diagrams to represent business processes, workflows, and systems, helping to visualize how they operate
* Developing test cases and validating solutions to ensure they meet the defined requirements and quality standards
* Partner with and ensure consistent/effective communication with agile pod and peer teams
* Act as liaison between Business and IT partners ensuring clear understanding of user stories and business requirements for design
What we're looking for
Must-haves:
* 3-5+ plus years of experience in a Business Analyst role that aligns with the responsibilities of the role
* Project management skills including, critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure and meeting deadlines
* 4 Year/Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience (4+ years of experience that aligns with the duties of the role)
* Ability to define problems, analyze complex information, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions and solutions
* Strong collaborator and communicator
Nice-to-haves:

The pay range for this position is $69,000 - $124,600 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln's total rewards package for employees. * You will manage payment indexing, premium and billing application, research discrepancies and ensure all information is complete and in good order. You will monitor premium and billing to ensure proper completion, including balancing expenses and the information is in good order.
* You will troubleshoot issues with premium & billing to identify more complex root cause and issue resolution. In addition, manage basic reporting and complete terminations and reinstatements.
* You will handle transfers of payments as needed and provide customer service to internal/external stakeholder, recognizing what needs to be done to meet the customer needs and demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness to create a recommendable customer experience.
* You will manage premium & billing cases in accordance with established procedures and guidelines in a timely manner and meeting departmental quality/production standards.

Effectively communicates with injured workers and employers. Demonstrates expertise and empathy, building trust and moving the claim forward, including timely three-point contacts on all new losses.
Manages claims with an outcome-based and resolution focus. Demonstrates highly effective strategic plans for future handling that are well outlined in plans of action and followed through in a timely fashion.
Demonstrates effective decision-making in compensability determinations and benefit authorizations (within designated authority parameters). Proactively utilizes resources such as Medical Management, SIU, Subrogation, Recovery, and Legal to ensure accurate determinations in compensability, causal relationship, appropriate medical treatment, and to achieve favorable outcomes.

Prepares timely and accurate settlement recommendations (within designated authority parameters) and effectively negotiates the settlement of claims.
Reduces fraud through early identification and escalation.
Effectively manages defense attorneys. Demonstrates excellence in litigation management by being prepared for hearings in a timely manner and appropriately considering exposures, settlement options, and other legal issues.
Reviews and approves vocational rehabilitation plans.
Effectively manages vendors and providers. Identifies need for assignment and removal of vendors and makes effective use of vendor expertise while maintaining ownership of the claim.
Demonstrates expertise in technical aspects of claim management. Works with Medicare Set-Asides, Structured Settlements, and/or Part B issues.
Maintains effective relationships with internal and external service partners, including participation in periodic telephonic claims reviews.
Calculates and pays benefits in accordance with the law. Ensures that the claim as a whole is managed in accordance with all legal requirements including the issuance of appropriate notices and filings.
Ensures continual education requirements are met.
WHAT YOU'D NEED TO QUALIFY:
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent certificate required; Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferred.
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of five (5) years of indemnity adjusting experience managing large and/or complex workers' compensation claims and accounts required.
Licensed to adjust workers' compensation claims in one or more jurisdictions.
COMPUTER SKILLS: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications and able to be proficient on applicable databases, Claims systems, and vendor software programs.
