    Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Companies, Workers Compensation Division, has an immediate opening for a Client Services Account Manager in our San Diego office. This individual manages a book of business of workers compensation policyholders while supporting new business growth through active participation in Client Services activities. Services existing accounts of all premium sizes, manages onboarding of new business for assigned accounts, and provides ongoing consultative account management services while maintaining documentation of all policyholder/broker activities in Company databases. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Conducts prospect meetings with prospective policyholders and brokers and conducts onboarding meetings with assigned new policyholders and brokers upon policy issuance. Conducts claim reviews, stewardship meetings, and pre-renewal meetings with policyholders and brokers for each assigned account. Attends agency visits, meetings, and events with the Marketing and/or Underwriting teams. Develops and provides training to company staff relating to Client Services, such as development and maintenance of Plans of Action. Conducts mock claim reviews with new Claims Professionals. Maintains accurate account information in Salesforce. Effectively utilizes Salesforce to service new business and renewals, and manage account assignments. Develops and fosters strong working relationships with policyholders and brokers, providing timely and consistent communication regarding claim or service updates. Develops and maintains strong knowledge of company products and programs. Successfully resolves customer service issues and timely responds to inquiries. Acts as a liaison between policyholders/brokers and company staff and routinely follows up with all parties to ensure resolution. Utilizes monitoring tools to ensure continued compliance. Collaborates with Claims, Underwriting, and Marketing teams to access account retention, troubleshoot issues, and address service needs. Actively participates in Client Services team meetings, sharing ideas to drive continual improvement. Stays abreast of insurance industry changes and internal service team changes, and proactively shares knowledge with peers and internal partners. Proactively communicates any problems or issues that may adversely impact a policyholder or the company directly to the Client Services Manager and/or Director of Client Services. Ensures work is performed in accordance with company standards and supervisory direction. NEEDED QUALIFICATIONS Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of prior experience in workers compensation claim handling required. Minimum of 1 year of prior experience in client service preferred. Technical Skills: Strong workers compensation industry knowledge required, to include knowledge of workers compensation claim handling/adjusting. Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must demonstrate basic technical competencies in the use of computers, standard business applications (e.g., Laserfiche), and Microsoft Office/365 applications, and be able to master and become proficient in proprietary and vendor software programs. Must possess and maintain valid United States driver's license in good standing. Occasional travel to corporate offices and client sites is required. Travel requires the use of various forms of transportation, including, but not limited to, automobile, plane or train. QUALIFICATIONS Education: High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Credential such as GED, HiSET, or TASC required. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university highly preferred. Conducts and directs the investigation of reported claims to determine coverage, compensability and severity and to gather all other relevant information, including making three-point contact telephone calls. Develops and updates a plan of action for the successful resolution of each claim. Assigns appropriate tasks to a Claims Assistant and/or Claims Clerical Assistant and ensures they are performed correctly and efficiently. Reduces fraud through early identification and escalation. Communicates effectively with individuals outside the company, including clients, medical providers, and injured workers. Prepares timely and accurate settlement recommendations (within designated authority parameters) and effectively negotiates the settlement of claims.     The Director of Development (DOD) is responsible for owning the overall training and development infrastructure for advisors with fewer than 5 years of experience in the Downtown San Diego office. The DoD is expected to be knowledgeable regarding activity, productivity, and career milestone expectations for full-time financial advisors and have the skill set necessary to influence behavior and achieve results across all categories. The DoD coaches all advisors in their first 24 months and provides ongoing support, thereafter, serving as the primary relationship touchpoint and positively influencing retention of new advisors. This individual will also engage in the selection process, conveying expectations to candidates and discussing our training platform in detail. The DoD is expected to have significant input and responsibility for enterprise goal creation and tracking. A key leader in the office, the DoD should be prepared to add value in every interaction with new advisors including assigning joint work partners, working thorough mental obstacles, providing language development and sales cycle refinement, conducting trend analysis in an individual's practice, and more. Additional responsibilities may include running leadership meetings, interfacing frequently with mentors, strategically planning and tactically executing, working with and through other members of the Network Office staff, and owning reporting on key performance indicators/goals. Primary Responsibilities Training & Development Oversee training and development initiatives during the candidate selection process. Own the onboarding process for new advisors including pre-training introductory day and language and market development exercises Conduct onboarding meetings, monitor licensing status, and create study plans and timelines for insurance and securities exams. Become well-versed in the Culture Index and related coaching technique Meet and coach new representatives on maintaining activity and effective sales habits with ongoing coaching as needed. Assist in coaching and mentoring college interns, with a focus on conversion-eligible seniors. Train representatives on CRM software usage and ensure accountability for accurate data entry. Partner with Financial Planning Academy (FPA) and Director of Training to organize training schedules and communicate participant readiness, addressing any gaps or issues. On-going Training Oversee the Extended Learning Program (ELP), including the design of unique training modules tailored to meet organizational goals. Attend, supervise, and facilitate training modules to ensure effective delivery and participant engagement. Facilitate debrief meetings with the leadership team and individual faculty members post-academy to review outcomes and identify areas for improvement. Organize and schedule follow-up training sessions throughout the year to reinforce learning and development. Activity Coaching/Board of Review Coordinate and manage the schedules of all leadership team members to effectively support U5 development initiatives. Strategize, manage, and track office expectations (Blueprint for Success), including monitoring activity, production, and commitment for new Financial Representatives (FRs). Prepare, schedule, and lead Board of Review meetings to assess advisor progress and growth alongside mentors and key leaders. Manage the Board of Review process, ensuring accountability to expectations. Create content for and coordinate weekly in-office development meetings, including but not limited to: Monday Morning Meeting, ELP, Road to MDRT. Send Monday Morning Meeting agenda in advance to leadership and conduct all related preparation, including speaker confirmation, preparation of recognition slides, and running activity report. Prepare end-of-week coaching summary emails to be sent to the leadership team (cc MP/CDO). Conduct or supervise activity coaching meetings, ensure coaches are trained, and provide development opportunities. Manage weekly Development Team Meetings to review new FRs' progress and identify strengths and areas of opportunity Prepare end-of-week coaching summary emails for the leadership team and run activity reports, ensuring continuous communication and feedback loops are maintained Strategic Planning & Liaison Collect and track business data to ensure pacing for individual and collective goals. Connect with the Sales Execution Team (SET) on a weekly basis to monitor the pipeline and implement a production tracker with SET. Partner with the leadership team to monitor advisors' progress and results; provide recommendations for coaching and mentorship opportunities. Weekly connection and coaching with mentors to align on development strategies. Monitor progress toward and coach advisors to achieve Performance Accelerator Bonus and Performance Pathway Incentives. Joint Work & Mentoring Maintain the joint work list and oversee its use by new advisors. Manage mentor pairings, ensuring mentors are trained and effectively support new representatives. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor's Degree preferred. Five - seven years of professional experience, preferably in the sales or financial services industry.
