Requisition #: 74327 The Role at a Glance We are excited to bring on a VP, Life, Disability, Absence and Regional/National Product Leader to our Workplace Solutions Group Protection (GP) Product team. This role can be remote or hybrid in one of our key city locations. In this role, you will provide strategic leadership to drive effective market intelligence analysis, product strategy and development, and life-cycle management of non-medical insurance products, including Disability, Absence, Life, and Worksite products. They are responsible for developing strategy and leading constant improvement in product innovation, business development and coordinating with Distribution and other senior leaders on expansion into existing, new, tangent or underdeveloped markets. They will also provide highly specialized expertise to senior internal and external stakeholders leveraging their deep knowledge of the group protection marketplace with an emphasis on regional and national segments. What you'll be doing * Provide strategic leadership, direction, and execution for all new product development and ongoing product management for non-medical insurance products, including Absence, Disability, Life & Worksite products * Oversee the entire product life cycle, from strategic planning and prioritization to product launch and implementation, and post-implementation monitoring * Define and drive department strategy and roadmap and ensures it fits within the overall Product Solutions and GP strategy * Drive peer and senior management support needed to implement and integrate projects, process and strategies into the GP business * Partner with pricing and business line leaders to analyze impacts of strategic solutions and overall acceptance and awareness of innovative development * Provide highly specialized expertise to internal stakeholders through an advanced understanding of enterprise-wide risk exposures and characteristics of new product development. * Prepare compelling business rationales and presents recommendations to business executives to contribute to development of key business initiatives including new products, business ventures and/or innovative development efforts * Drive cross-enterprise collaboration with internal/external stakeholders to provide targeted distribution and competitively position products/services in the market * Partners with the Portfolio Enablement, IT and other business operational areas to promote high quality development & implementation of technology solutions What we're looking for Must-haves: * 12+ Years of Group product development and/or product management experience * 5+ years of managerial, strategy, and influencing senior management/critical stakeholders experience * 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's) * Deep knowledge of Product Development and Management best practices * Deep knowledge of Group Protection Absence, PFML, and Statutory products * Deep understanding for best practices of other services providers within competitive benefits offerings * Deep understanding of group benefits plan designs, process and funding as it relates to all benefit plans * Demonstrated ability to successfully hire, retain, develop and coach staff via a culture of real-time performance feedback, with ability to build both technical and leadership skills * Demonstrated strong relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g. senior/executive management, peers and colleagues); proven ability to develop creative and collaborative approaches Nice-to-haves: * Supplemental Health product development and/or management experience.
