    LDA - PT Hourly Custodial Staff LEAH Schools Downtown Academy FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt Reports To: Campus Administrator Members of the custodial staff serve in a vital capacity by keeping our classrooms, building, and grounds (at times) clean, safe, and welcoming for our students, staff, and families. It is important for this environment to be clean for the young children we serve. Mission Statement: Empowered by the love of Jesus, LEAH Schools Downtown Academy nurtures children in faith, provides excellence in education, and encourages leadership in a safe, positive, and relational environment. LEAH Schools Downtown Academy is a year-round, licensed, early childhood program serving children and families in Downtown Houston. Custodians are expected to be present from 5pm-9pm cleaning, sanitizing, and refreshening classrooms, restrooms, hallways, and other shared spaces. Applicants must be able to pass an in-depth background check that includes the Central Registry for Abuse and Neglect, DPS, and FBI in states in which the applicant has lived within the last five years. Essential Duties · Mopping and vacuuming a variety of floor surfaces. · Shampooing carpets as requested. · Emptying trash cans and cleaning them as needed. · Dusting all surfaces. · Washing windows as needed. · Cleaning restrooms. · Restocking paper products, refilling soap dispensers and air fresheners. · Wiping down hard surfaces with disinfectants. · Keeping custodial closets clean and organized. · Work as a team to ensure a safe and healthy environment for children. · Maintain a proper work and public relations atmosphere as parents come and go. · Inventory supplies and submit supply requests to supervisor weekly. · Be aware of all school activities and be available to support events as needed. · Work cooperatively with the office and teaching staffs. · Conduct oneself in a professional, ethical, and Christ-like way. · Exhibit a positive attitude and a strong work ethic. · Dress in a professional and appropriate manner. · Be regular and punctual in attendance. · Willingly perform other duties as assigned by LEAH leadership. Qualifications: · A general knowledge of cleaning expectations. · Ability to pass and extensive background check. · Ability to work with staff, students, and parents in a courteous way. · Ability to work independently and as part of a team. · Working or learned knowledge of regulatory environments · Must maintain a high standard of ethics and honesty · Able to give attention to details and accuracy. · Is punctual and reliable in attendance · Positive performance reviews are expected for continued employment.
