**General Purpose of Job**

This position will perform and deliver on routine assignments/projects while simultaneously leveraging and applying knowledge of Underwriting. They evaluate insurance applications for which a coverage determination cannot be concluded through an automated rules engine. They assess risks to determine whether to accept an insurance application and determine the appropriate coverage and risk amount.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

Audits and approves determinations underwritten by an automated rules engine for less complex cases to ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines and policies.

Develops relationships with new business and tele-app staff to achieve team goals.

Identifies and communicates to management process improvements that reduce workloads or improve quality for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.

Identifies, documents, and presents to internal stakeholders findings that support process improvement.

Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for assigned area(s) of responsibility, assesses the impact, and collaborates with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.

Performs and delivers on routine assignments/projects while simultaneously leveraging and applying knowledge of their assigned area(s) of responsibility.

Promotes and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility.

Underwrites life insurance applications within assigned area of responsibility making underwriting determinations of the terms, coverage and pricing by evaluating applicant data including medical reports, and risk analysis and modification.

The Claims Team will provide you with several weeks of paid training, coaching and development to perform in this fast-paced environment.
