Pros of working at Lindblad Expeditions

It was great seeing a new location every day!

Cons of working at Lindblad Expeditions

A lot of people were struggling mentally leading to all kinds of problems. Management doesn’t want to intervene because they are worried about losing their popularity.

What do you like best about Lindblad Expeditions's CEO and the leadership team?

We don’t have any interaction or support from the leadership team, not even in a training video.

How would you improve Lindblad Expeditions's culture?

Don’t leave all of the HR responsibilities on the Captain. Our Captain has a serious problem with not being able to fire his friends. Have a real system of investigation and reporting. Hold crew accountable for their misdeeds.

How did you prepare for the Lindblad Expeditions interview?

I researched both the good stuff and the lawsuits against the company

How does your compensation at Lindblad Expeditions compare to the industry average?

It’s much lower. We had an issue with deckhands and stewards raiding the tips left for housekeeping. Tips are supposed to be shared between everyone, but the theft is out of control, harming everyone.

What's the diversity at Lindblad Expeditions like?

They hired a diverse group when I was there

Pros of working at Lindblad Expeditions

Coworkers. Sight seeing in very few moments of free time.

Cons of working at Lindblad Expeditions

After months of preparation and excitement, a friend of mine discovered that this is essentially a scam. One of many revolving door employees, they were promised that their travel expenses were paid for. They were promised a once in a lifetime opportunity to travel internationally. They quickly discovered that they would have barely any time off duty. When they left alongside many other crew members, they found themselves in a financial hostage situation. Their wages were withheld and eventually delegated to their travel home. After nearly 200 hours of work, they received almost no pay. Don't work here.

Lindblad Expeditions Benefits

Not receiving compensation.
