Riot Games 4.2
Los Angeles, CA job
As a Community Strategist, you will work on an Unpublished R&D game team to help build, launch, and scale the community programs, platform strategies, creator incentives, and content campaigns that will spark growth, deepen engagement, and shape an emerging player community for a new game. You think about how aspirational subcultures get built and protected; how platforms influence communities; how algorithms drive content creation (and vice versa); and how to support and reward all who engage.
You will anticipate where the next platforms and participation formats will emerge, and build community strategies and programmatic incentives that encourage participation both IRL and online, from the grassroots to the top. You will work closely with the development team, advising on how game features and systems can foster connectivity, share-ability, and growth. You are comfortable building from the ground up and wearing many hats on a small, cross-functional team.
Responsibilities:
* Build, launch, and scale community programs, platform strategies, and content campaigns for a new, unreleased game with a focus on blending IRL and online participation
* Develop incentive systems, content creation pipelines, and engagement frameworks that support and encourage participants from grassroots to top-tier creators
* Partner with the game team to advise on features and systems that strengthen social connectivity, share-ability, and community growth
* Identify emerging platforms, participation formats, and creator ecosystems, then translate those insights into community strategy
* Build and maintain feedback loops that surface player insights and represent the community in cross-functional discussions
* Stand up early community operations: processes, toolkits, and workflows
Required Qualifications:
* 5+ years' experience working in and managing online communities - including social media, community management, digital marketing, or influencer strategies
* Strong understanding of platform ecosystems, emerging formats, online community organization, and creator behavior
* Experience taking community or creator initiatives from zero to one
* Experience serving and uniting a global playerbase through content and engagement
* Experience building structured feedback loops for players and influencers alike
* Experience working on multi-disciplinary, cross-functional teams (both publishing and development)
For this role, you'll find success through craft expertise, a collaborative spirit, and creating strategies that prioritizes the delight of players.
