About the Position
The Assistant Cook supports the Head Cook in preparing nutritious, well-balanced meals for campers and staff during summer overnight camps. This position typically works two meals per camp day and assumes leadership of the Kitchen Assistants when the Head Cook is not on duty.

Camp Season 2026 will run from June 7th through August 18th, with start and end dates determined by position. POSITION PURPOSE
The Cook 2 guides, supports and actively participates in all aspects of production and service of a variety of foods/cuisines, including cutting meat and seafood, making sauces and/or cooking proteins. During the service phase of the workday, the Cook 2 prepares menu items to customer order and provides direction to the staff who would be involved in assembling foods, plating, grilling and performing the sales transactions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Review menus and recipes and consult with Manager on the production goals for the day/week.
Develop prep and order specifications derived from multiple recipes at various stations.
Prepare menu items from scratch ingredients.
Ensure the successful and timely execution of the menu, consulting with the culinary leadership if exceptions occur.
Assign, instruct and check the work of all kitchen staff, delegating to cooks and leads, as appropriate.

LineCook/The Dishwasher at Five Iron will support the team leader in managing all aspects of our kitchen. While the main responsibilities are listed below, the LineCook/The Dishwasher will assist with additional tasks as directed by the team lead. This role is responsible for preparing, cooking, and delivering flavorful dishes to our guests, ensuring that every bite is a satisfying and memorable experience.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Open/close kitchen when needed.
Prepare a variety of different appetizers/entrees for guests and ensure food preparation to keep the kitchen and line fully stocked.
Wash and sanitize all pans, utensils, and dishes.
Clean, sanitize, and maintain dish machine.
Scrape, rinse, and load dishes and utensils into dish machine; unload and organize them properly.
Empty trash containers regularly and maintain a clean work area by sweeping and mopping as needed.
Perform additional cleaning duties and clean food prep stations and equipment as requested.
Control and direct the food preparation process while collaborating with front-of-house staff to ensure excellent service.
Deliver a consistently high level of customer service to each guest.
Required Qualifications:
At least 1 year of experience as a linecook or in a kitchen environment preferred but not required.
Ability to work independently and with a kitchen team, dividing responsibilities and monitoring staff.
Credentials in health and safety training.
Certification that meets local requirements.
Must be flexible with hours.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs during normal operations.
Deliver a consistently high level of customer service to each guest.
Pay: $21-$23/hr
