The Recovery Village Cherry Hill is a state-of-the-art inpatient and outpatient substance abuse and mental health facility. The goal of our food services department is to create a scratch kitchen to ensure patient satisfaction and that all dietary needs are met.
The LineCook is responsible for assisting with meal and food preparation, regulation compliance (reporting), and sanitation of the kitchen and dining areas as assigned by Food Service Director.
Works effectively with the facility leadership team to ensure success of the facility by completing the following:
Core Job Duties:
Working with the Food Service Director to prepare,cook, and serve food to our clients that is consistent with the highest quality standards.
Responsible for orderly storage and cleanliness of all areas and items within the kitchen, dining room, and other food storage, meal service, and refuse disposal areas.
Checks and completes temperature charts for refrigerators, and freezers on a daily basis.
Correctly and appropriately utilizes approved cleaning agents within all food preparation, storage and refuse disposal areas.
Responsible for removal of trash and refuse from kitchen, dining room and food storage areas
Utilizes appropriate care and safety in usage of meat slicer and other kitchen equipment.
Inventories food service items and supplies as directed.
Other Required Tasks:
Conducts work activities in a safe and orderly manner.

LineCook Responsibilities:
Prepare items for broiling, grilling, frying, sautéing or other cooking methods by portioning, battering, breading, seasoning and/or marinating.
Follow proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes.
Know and comply with our standard portion sizes,cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures.
Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation area including tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, sauté burners, convection oven, flat top range and refrigeration equipment.
Handle, store and rotate all products properly.
Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period.
Portion food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications.
Assume 100% responsibility for quality of products served.
Assist in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed.
Close the kitchen properly and follows the closing checklist for kitchen stations. Assist others in closing the kitchen.
Attend all scheduled employee meetings and bring suggestions for improvement.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or manager-on-duty.
LineCook Qualifications:
Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel.
Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds.
