Identify, inspect, use and maintain all classes of rubber gloves and sleeves (PIPE), and insulating blankets, hoses and covers (IPE). Inspect, maintain, organize, operate and stock company vehicles, equipment and tools. Perform housekeeping duties as assigned. Report irregularities and abnormal conditions. * Safely execute pole top rescue and bucket truck rescue processes as training is completed5. Protect or control work area. This role typically focuses on complex repairs and maintenance tasks beyond the basic oil changes and tire rotations done by entry-level techs. Automotive Technician - Essential Duties Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, by the dealership and factory standards. Diagnoses the cause of most malfunctions and performs repair. Communicates with the parts department to obtain needed parts. Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer. Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended. Communicates with the service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if the work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time. Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order. Road tests vehicles when required or refers to the test technician. Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events. Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins. Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to the supervisor. Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean. Notifies the service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle. Must read, interpret, and transcribe data to maintain accurate records. Perform routine maintenance and other tasks in a fast-paced environment. May lift objects that weigh as much as 50 lbs. Understanding of automotive air-conditioning systems. Ability to use diagnostic equipment. Experience with heavy equipment and as a diesel mechanic, diesel engine knowledge, or prepared to do on-the-job training. Good hand-eye coordination. Automotive Technician - Education and/or Experience Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
