We are searching for highly motivated, technically competent, and mechanically inclined individuals to join our growing operations team. In this position you will play a key role in validation testing of our generators prior to shipping to our customers. You will work within our newly established Pilot Manufacturing facility in Menlo Park, collaborating with our highly talented team of mechanics and engineers to bring affordable, dispatchable and clean energy to the world. • Work with our quick learning Build and Test Team to test and validate the next generation of high efficiency generators, then prepare units for customer delivery
• Run generators through product qualification tests, logging data and identifying failures
• Troubleshoot issues, escalate, and get support of key stakeholders
• Execute repairs and retrofits to rectify issues discovered during testing, feedback quality issues to production
• Collaborate with engineers to fix, repair, and redesign components and assemblies
• Conduct mechanical inspections of test units, documenting condition information for use by our engineers
• Collaborate with coworkers to identify opportunities to improve safety and productivity

• Around 3+ years of experience with mechanical assembly and/or repair. Experience with automotive or heavy equipment assembly a plus • Experience with precision measuring down to .001”, micrometers, bore gauges, gauge blocks, etc. • Must be able to stand for long periods of time, lift up to 50 lbs., and wear required PPE • Forklift or heavy equipment operation experience a plus • Software familiarity and experience a plus • Electrical system familiarity and troubleshooting experience a plus

This is not an entry level position. Preferred for candidate to have a minimum of two years previous mechanical or tech experience at a dealership or large independent shop. ASE certifications are preferred. Must have ability to operate a wide variety of vehicles both automatic and manual transmissions. A valid driver license and good driving record are required.
Job duties will include inspecting, diagnosing, and identifying work that needs to be completed on various vehicles. Performing adjustments and calibrations, replenishing fluids, disassembling and reassembling vehicle components, and repairing or replacing parts. Using independent judgment needed to make decisions, documenting all work and hours per manufacturer and Kendall policies, and road testing all vehicles to ensure quality of work and issues resolution.
Work is performed indoors in a shop environment, tool usage includes mechanic's hand and power tools that produce significant vibration and force, standing and walking will be required for entire work shift in order to complete job duties. Pushing, pulling, crouching, squatting, reaching, and kneeling will be required frequently to access all parts of vehicles being worked on. Lifting as well as pushing and pulling weights and forces from 20 to 100 pounds occasionally required.
