Start machines, monitor their operations, and record operational data. Set up, operate, or tend machines to saw, cut, shear, slit, punch, crimp, notch, bend, or straighten metal or plastic material. Responsible for machine change over and appropriate material setup. Examine work area at beginning and ending of each shift and during any machine changeover for safety and proper operations. Examine completed workpieces for defects, such as chipped edges or marred surfaces and sort defective pieces according to types of flaws. Measure completed workpieces to verify conformance to specifications, using micrometers, gauges, calipers, templates, or rulers. Safely and efficiently prepares material for shipping. This includes proper identification, tagging and wrapping. Required to be a team player and collaborate with various departments to meet customer satisfaction. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Stripping forms by pulling finished cured goods off of forms and loading onto trailer. Cleaning forms after product is removed using a scraper, steel wool, shovels, sanders, solvents, etc. Setting up forms for pouring, including cutting and placing rebar, pulling or stressing rebar strand, tying mesh, and installing imbeds (including plates, vectors and core walls) and setting side rails. Pouring concrete, including placing, raking, and shoveling concrete. Finishing concrete using various tools/methods such as smooth float, steel trowel, brooming, raking and power trowels to achieve a desired finish. Sandblasting Duties Locating products stored in the Yard that have been approved for sandblasting. Sandblasting concrete surfaces according to the specifications of approved designs. Follows instructions, guidelines and procedures timely and accurately. Looks for ways to improve processes, reduce errors and increase efficiencies. Performing plant cleanup/housekeeping including putting away tools, sweeping debris and cleaning cluttered areas. Adhering to safety standards. Operating and maintaining man-lift, and other machinery including overhead cranes Driving yard vehicles, including truck, trailer, tractor and/or Tucker/Redimix truck on company grounds. Reads and interprets production schedules. Accurately identifies proper skid and package specified on schedules. Assembly Line: Working with a team of 3, you will be positioned at a conveyor system to assemble and pack product prepping it for shipment. Each team member is required to rotate each position throughout the shift. Machine Operator: Run and operate 2 rigid setup box machines - 1 machine makes the base and 1 machine makes the cover. All operators are required to meet 90% production (which is to make about 20,000 boxes in the shift) and no more than 3% waste.
