JOB OVERVIEW: As a member of the team, you will be the face of Wire 3 in the communities that we intend to serve and responsible for providing the homeowners the best experience possible working in or around their property. This is a full-time hourly position, expected to work at least 40 hours per week. This position operates in an outdoor environment and is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions including rain, humidity, high temperatures, and high wind. The outside work environment will vary throughout the day including changes in terrain, traffic, urban settings, and/or rural settings. Exposure to moderate to loud noise levels. This position is subject to the Federal Department of Transportation (DOT) drug & alcohol testing regulations as outlined in 49 CFR Part 382 and/or 49 CFR Part 199. RESPONSIBILITIES: Report directly to the crew leader or foreman. Load and secure materials or equipment for transport from the show-up yard to job sites. Set up equipment, including drills, water tanks, and machine grounding. Place, remove, or maintain underground utilities as directed, including labor-intensive tasks such as carrying materials, jackhammering, shoveling, tamping, and installing pipes, ducts, or cables. Perform trenching, missile boring, hand-hole placement, fiber optic cable installation, and related restoration work. Locate and identify underground wiring and cabling. Conduct job hazard analyses daily or as conditions change. Assist in securing the work site, equipment, and materials at the end of each shift to ensure public and job site safety. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including protecting public and underground utilities. Perform additional duties as assigned. REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES: Knowledge of NESC, OSHA, and applicable state and local codes. Ability to recognize priority issues and escalate them appropriately. Strong attention to detail in maintaining safety and operational procedures. Willingness and ability to work in all weather conditions. EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: Valid driver's license with a good driving record required. Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred (higher wage scales apply to CDL holders). PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to properly clean and maintain equipment, check fluid levels, and perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections. Capability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, carrying, digging, and working with heavy equipment. Ability to work in trenches, confined spaces, and various outdoor environments.
