Employees will then utilize a knife/blade and hammer to remove excess plastic from top and bottom of container. Employee must be able to properly and safely maneuver the drum as it is received, turned on its sides, picked up and transferred to a pallet. Drums can measure 3.5 feet in length and require upper body mobility to receive, transfer, turn, and stack containers safely and without injury. The employee is responsible for correctly following standards of quality and specifications in the machine. Needs to follow SOP to properly, safely and accurately follow all steps from when the container is dispersed until it is palletized. Production Line Machine Operator The Production Line Machine Operator is responsible for operating the dough production line machines to manufacture food products. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Press switches and turn knobs to start machines to package products. Observe and listen to equipment to detect possible malfunctions, such as leaks or plugging, and report malfunctions or undesirable tastes to supervisors. Clean materials, supplies, or work areas, using cleaning solutions and hand tools. Transport products and ingredients to production and material handling areas. Observe machine operations to ensure quality and consistency of products to standards. Adjust machine components and machine tension and pressure according to size or processing angle of product. Tend or operate machine that process dough. Regulate machine flow, speed, or temperature. Stop or reset machines when malfunctions occur, clear machine jams, and report malfunctions to a supervisor. Lift raw materials and products manually. Stock and replenish ingredients, such as corn starch into the line dispensors. Collect and examine product samples during production to test them for quality, color, content, texture and consistency. Observe gauges, dials, and product characteristics, and adjust controls to maintain appropriate texture and temperature of the dough. Move tables of dough from processing areas to packaging areas. Examine, measure, and weigh dough or products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring devices such as scales. Set up, operate, or tend machines that cut or slice materials. Remove defective or substandard materials from machines, and readjust machine components so that products meet standards. Press buttons or pull levers to start and operate cutting and slicing machines. Adjust machine controls to alter position, alignment, speed, or pressure.
