PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Press switches and turn knobs to start machines to package products. Observe and listen to equipment to detect possible malfunctions, such as leaks or plugging, and report malfunctions or undesirable tastes to supervisors. Clean materials, supplies, or work areas, using cleaning solutions and hand tools. Transport products and ingredients to production and material handling areas. Observe machine operations to ensure quality and consistency of products to standards. Adjust machine components and machine tension and pressure according to size or processing angle of product. Tend or operate machine that process dough. Regulate machine flow, speed, or temperature. Stop or reset machines when malfunctions occur, clear machine jams, and report malfunctions to a supervisor. Collect and examine product samples during production to test them for quality, color, content, texture and consistency. SUMMARY OF POSITION The Assembler is responsible for packaging food products while following the Food and Employee Safety Programs and Guidelines of the company. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES · Load materials and products into package processing equipment. · Checking products for quality on the production line and removing defective items. · Keeping machines supplied with packaging materials and labels. · Reporting machine faults to shift supervisors and maintenance staff. · Press switches and turn knobs to start machines to package products. · Making minor adjustments to machine settings to handle changes from one type of product or container to another. · Observe and listen to equipment to detect possible malfunctions, such as leaks or plugging, and report malfunctions or undesirable tastes to supervisors. · Monitor lot numbers, expiration dates and/or manufacturing dates for each product. · Mark and label food products, using marking tools. · Measure, weigh, and count products and materials. · Examine and inspect materials and products to ensure that packing specifications are met. · Record product, packaging, and order information on specified forms and records. · Remove completed or defective products or materials, placing them on moving equipment such as conveyors or in specified areas. · Seal materials, using a case sealing machine and hand tools. · Clean materials, supplies, or work areas, using cleaning solutions and hand tools. · Move completed boxes from conveyor line and assemble a pallet of product. · Lift finished products, and packed items manually. · Count finished products to determine if product orders are complete.
