PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Perform general construction tasks involving physical labor at construction projects and plants. May operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments. May clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, cleaning up rubble and debris.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Structures Division
Operate jackhammers, drills and other power tools as required.
Position, join, align, and seal structural components, such as concrete wall sections and pipes.
Shovel cement and other materials into portable cement mixers; and mix, pour, and spread concrete.
Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials.
Spray materials such as water, sand, steam, vinyl, paint, or stucco through hoses to clean, coat, or seal surfaces.
Tend machines that pump concrete, grout, cement, sand, plaster or stucco through spray-guns for application to ceilings and walls.
Tend pumps, compressors, and generators to provide power for tools, machinery, and equipment, or to heat and move materials such as asphalt.
Lubricate, clean, and repair machinery, equipment, and tools.
Apply caulking compounds by hand or using caulking guns.
Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
Control traffic passing near, in, and around work zones.
Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, and compact and level earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, and rakes.
Erect and disassemble scaffolding, shoring, braces, traffic barricades, ramps, and other temporary structures.
Load, unload building materials, machinery, and tools.
Mix ingredients to create compounds for covering or cleaning surfaces.
Learn and follow safety regulations.
Provide assistance to craft workers, such as carpenters, plasterers, and masons.
Work long, flexible hours as demanded by our customers including nights, weekends, and work outside for extended periods during all seasons of the year.
Perform additional duties as required or directed by their immediate supervisor or other manager.
Handle materials such as soil, rock, debris, posts, fabric, etc. up and down slopes and uneven terrain. Be able to use hand tools such as rakes, shovels, and buckets while working in these areas.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
*High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
*Must be a minimum of 18 years old.
Work Experience:
General construction experience.
Bridge construction experience is a plus.
Other:
Must have a good work ethic and be dependable.
Candidate must have reliable transportation to the job site.
Job may require some overnight travel.
Candidate must be willing to work nights and/or weekends if needed.
Must not be frightened of heights or working near or over water.
Heavy Physical Demands:

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent
Must read, write, and speak English; Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
Must be able to stand and lift heavy loads for long periods of time
Employee will be subjected to twisting, turning, repetitive motions for majority of shift
Working knowledge and experience with MS Excel, MS Word, Data Entry, SAP desirable
Experience in a fast paced, high volume manufacturing environment
Ability to work in a team-orientated environment

PRIMARY JOB TASKS:
Must be able to work under supervision and maintain ongoing communication with the supervisor and peers through verbal instruction and reports
Ensure materials are properly packaged
Put scrap into the designated scrap bins

Set up equipment and ensure production materials are available
CROSS TRAINING:

* Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and specifications to assemble and install parts.
* Set up and operate manual and automated assembly equipment and portable machinery.
* Perform rework, fabrication, change incorporation, and functional testing during or after final assembly.
* Utilize precision measuring instruments to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
* Identify, report, and investigate errors in parts, tools, or assembly procedures.
* Perform minor machine maintenance (e.g., changing filters, light bulbs, maintaining coolant levels).
* Assist in training, coaching, and supporting other team members.
* Document and report discrepancies according to company procedures.
* Cross-train in inspection and become SIA qualified.
* Support continuous product flow by efficiently moving parts and assemblies.
* Must be able to stand and work for the entire 8-hour shift and work overtime/weekends as needed.
