JOB SUMMARY: The Utilities Division is looking for an experienced Laborer to support the Utilities team in performing a variety of manual labor tasks in support of utility services, including maintenance and construction. RESPONSIBILITIES: Manually dig trenches for underground utility lines using shovels and by hand. Haul dirt, sand, and grass using wheelbarrows. Spread and level dirt and sand. Perform site clean-up duties such as: Sweeping, shoveling, throwing away trash, using power washer to clean driveways and sidewalks. Operate hand and power tools. Load and unload miscellaneous materials used at the jobsite. Flagging traffic passing near, in, or around work zones. Carry out safety policies in place to avoid site hazards (setting up cones, moving material and equipment off driveways and sidewalks, wearing required PPE). Perform other laborer duties as instructed by the supervisor. Follow all safety policies and guidelines set by HJD Capital Electric. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS: 1 year of experience working as a Utility Laborer. Basic knowledge and experience operating hand and power tools. Must have reliable transportation. Experience working outdoors in extreme weather conditions (heat and cold). Physical capability to carry up to 50 lbs. and perform manual labor. Strong attention to detail and initiative to perform additional tasks when needed. Must have a safety-first mindset to identify and mitigate potential hazards. Preferred: Valid CDL holder.
