PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES: Calibrate, troubleshoot and repair plant instrumentation i.e., transmitters, analyzers (GC's), control valves, switches, relays, etc. Inspect, repair, replace transformers, switches, control equipment, wiring, and electrical systems Make connections and disconnections of all electrical equipment Work with a wide variety of instruments including pH, conductivity, ultrasonic, radar levels, mass flow, pressure transducers, RTDs, etc. Understand Piping and Instrument Diagrams, Signal Flow Diagrams, Wiring Diagrams, Panel Drawings, One Line Drawings, Loop Sheets, and Wire Lists Perform all duties in manner consistent with environmental, health and safety policies Measure, cut bend and install conduit, fittings and tubing as needed to install or repair equipment. Lock, tag, try and test energy sources in order to make equipment inoperable and safe to work on. Communicate with other employees using hand-held radios, telephones, e-mail, etc. in order to perform jobs efficient. Remove and place back into service control type instrumentation after calibrating, services, troubleshooting, range change and maintenance work performed such as: flow transmitters, level transmitters, temperature transmitters, and on-line process analyzers MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Education: Associate degree, equivalent military training, acceptable apprenticeship program in the field of electrical and instrumentation and/or acceptable work experience. Related Experience : At least five years of experience with the following background: Significant knowledge and experience troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's) and Distributive Control Systems (DCS). Working knowledge of motors and conventional motor controls with single phase, multiphase, synchronous and servo applications preferred. Working knowledge of a wide variety of instrument/electrical test equipment including significant experience with calibration and troubleshooting. Experienced with instrumentation and controls including field transmitter setup and calibration of both wired and wireless systems. Comfortable with high, medium and low voltage power distribution systems and relaying. Experience with computer networking, digital communications, robotics and other specialized functional electronics preferred. Competent and comfortable working at least to 480 Volts. SPECIAL REMARKS/CHALLENGES Candidates must be willing to participate in an on-call program with some overtime as required. Must be attentive to detail and have excellent organization and communication skills. The individual must also be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment when working in designated areas. This may include FR, hard hat, safety glasses, respirators, ear plugs, steel-toed shoes, or other equipment as required by the work performed and location the work is being done. Other physical requirements for this position include: Be capable of twisting, bending, stooping, kneeling and reaching motions to perform functions of the job, when required. Exposure to various temperature extremes as dictated by local climate. Exposure to loud noise levels created by running equipment in the process areas. May require standing for long periods of time while testing. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. at times, but not routinely.

The overall team environment will include instrument and electrical technicians, maintenance technicians, maintenance planners, maintenance supervision, reliability engineers, and operations personnel. Responsibilities: Directly supervise I&E technicians, providing technical guidance, work prioritization, provide scheduling input and performance management. Review and maintain up-to-date documentation, including loop drawings, electrical schematics, and calibration records. Lead root cause analyses (RCA) failures of instrumentation systems and implement long-term corrective measures. Identify opportunities to improve asset reliability, control system performance, and energy efficiency. Develop and refine preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, incorporating condition monitoring and reliability engineering principles. Partner with engineering and operations to evaluate new technologies and implement system upgrades. Maintaining a close working relationship with Production Supervisors. Ensuring that adequate spare parts for the I & E Mission are available. Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and professional development within the I&E team and that all work complies with NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA, and plant safety standards.
