What You'll Do as a QC Technician:
Perform analytical testing on ingredients, in-process products, and finished goods
Conduct sensory evaluations on every batch to ensure taste, texture, and appearance meet quality standards
Monitor critical control points (CCPs) for food safety compliance
Verify labeling accuracy for microbiological samples and finished goods
Use lab equipment proficiently and maintain accurate data entry via software or written methods
Notify relevant personnel about out-of-spec results or paperwork discrepancies
Inspect equipment for cleanliness post-wash when necessary
Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant working environment

Key Responsibilities:
The Quality Technician will ensure quality goals are met through an operational and analytical focus, an attention to detail, defect detection and corrective/preventative action, with strong internal partnerships with the production department. This is a fast passed job that requires walking, standing, and satisfactory multitasking.
The Quality Technician will:
Be responsible for monitoring and maintaining key indicators of product quality and safety through inspection, testing and communication.
Promote maintenance of food safety and quality programs, HACCP, allergen control, ingredient control, GMP's, document control, traceability, product quality reviews, and corrective/preventative action.
Be responsible for reporting any deviations in quality processes to the Quality Supervisor.
Have a hands-on approach and strong interpersonal skills that allow you to become familiar with the plant processes and work with others to ensure alignment and drive continuous improvement within the daily operations in the plant.
Ensure alignment of plant procedures with quality policy and SQF elements
Ensure all testing and inspections are aligned with plant quality procedures and specifications
Develop a strong knowledge of plant floor activities
Support the maintenance of SQF certification
Required and Preferred Qualifications:
High school diploma and/or equivalent experience
Working knowledge of quality systems to ensure food safety and quality
Strong interpersonal and documentation skills
Working knowledge in Microsoft software and computing skills
The ability to follow SOPs (standard operating procedures)
1+ years of industry experience in quality systems
2 years of experience or BS degree in scientific field
Working knowledge of basic laboratory equipment (scales, thermometers, calipers, analyzers).

The CMM/Quality Technician supports the Ludington operation, balancing responsibilities between ownership of warranty assessment, program quality, and technical support, including CMM programming and management of non-conforming material.
Responsibilities:
Manage Warranty Processing for Ludington products (receive complaint, ID root cause, provide disposition on outcome and write/distribute report)
Program Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) for new products and design revisions
Lead Root Cause and Corrective Action for defects, scrap issues and non-conforming supplier product.
Support activities to ensure the Quality Management System complies with ISO9001:2015
Manage Layered Process Audits
Support Continuous Improvement activities associated with the Ludington facility

Back-up Gage Management and CMM Inspections for the supporting Quality Technician
Requirements:
Minimum 1 year related experience with CMM programming (5 years preferred)
HS diploma or equivalent (Associates degree preferred)
High proficiency in CMM programming using Zeiss Calypso software ideal, but open to any commercial CMM software.
Ability to read and understand Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance, drawings, work instructions and technical specifications.
Strong overall inspection experience.
Problem Solving and excellent Written, Communication, Technical Skills.
High proficiency in use of hand gages and inspection of precision components
Experience in management of gage calibration systems

1-3 years working with quality metrics, data analysis, and continuous improvement efforts.
Ability to handle conflict professionally and stand firm on facts
