Literacy Partners believes that the ability to read is an essential element of an enriched and fulfilling life. Our high-quality, community-based literacy programs in New York City empower adults to reach their full potential as individuals, parents and citizens. Literacy Partners provides a community-based, holistic approach to the students they serve. Alongside critical reading, writing and mathematics, all of their students study financial literacy and health literacy. Computer literacy instruction, as well as employment and postsecondary education counseling, are also available. Literacy Partners Inc. values education because it broadens an individual's worldview and strengthens the family, workplace and community. As NYC's only Nationally Accredited Adult Literacy Program, they offer free classes in Adult Basic Education, Pre-GED , GED , ESOL and also integrate Family, Health and Financial Literacy into our curricula. Additionally, their Partners United In Strengthening Harlem (PUSH) Literacy Zone serves as a comprehensive resource center focused on enhancing Literacy Partners' educational programs while providing case management for Harlem residents to provide pathways out of poverty and meet the diverse needs of the community.

The students work hard and the staff care about the mission.

Cons of working at Literacy Partners

The worst part of Literacy Partners is the CEO. He is incompetent (leadership, fundraising, financial management, partnership building, etc.) and amoral (lies to staff, Board and funders).
