Assist firm attorneys and firm clients in the area of trademark protection, including searching and mark clearance; trademark filing and prosecution in the US and internationally by working directly with foreign counsel; trademark enforcement; and related counseling.
Provide counseling related to copyright issues and the filing of copyright applications
Provide advising on issues related to domain names, social media and protection of rights on-line
Assist firm attorneys in the review and negotiation of information technology agreements and the drafting of privacy policies

Education and/or Experience:
Juris Doctor degree from an accredited United States law school.
Licensed to practice law in the state of Minnesota, or the ability to become licensed in Minnesota.
2-6 years of legal experience (private practice preferred, but will consider other experience)
Some experience preferred in the area of trademark prosecution, or, a strong desire be involved in a practice heavily involving trademark prosecution
Some experience preferred in other non-patent areas of IP law (e.g., copyright, data privacy, IT agreements)
Strong attention to detail
Ability to communicate trademark and other legal issues in a clear and concise manner
Ability to manage many matters/tasks at the same time
Salary:
The starting annual salary for this position is $160,000 - $170,000 and represents the firm's good faith and reasonable estimate of the starting compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate's years of experience, qualifications, and skill set.
