Summary

Depending on the nature and complexity of the case, personally prepares trial exhibits, or initiates preparation by other appropriate staff or contractors to ensure timely production prior to the trial date. Maintains accounting systems for materials to be used as exhibits in grand jury proceedings and trials, prepares lists and tables to correlate the exhibits with grand jury transcripts, and keeps a strict account of the exhibits used in such proceedings.
Provides automated litigation to attorneys in trial preparation and courtroom presentations. Provides technical in court support by utilizing various software applications e.g., enlarging charts and photographs, duplicating tapes and videos, and marking and annotating the exhibit list during testimony.
Performs a variety of administrative duties in support of the assigned AUSAs, which typically involves automation support or other administrative subject matter areas. • Using established databases, performs data searches, report design, and other data retrieval assignments.
Opens, maintains, and closes case files to include receiving newly opened case files and taking necessary measures to notify the proper client agency of service and to obtain litigation report and/or other needed case information.
Establishes and updates database to track receipt of cases, upcoming deadlines, and other case information. Keeps attorneys and appropriate staff members informed of the status of cases.
Monitors the progress of pending cases and initiates action to ensure that established deadlines are met.
Physically maintains case files and case related material in status within a filing system that is accessible and enables easy retrieval.
Closes case file in a timely manner. Purges unnecessary documents and forwards files to archives.
Prepares a variety of legal documents, correspondence, and other related material from templates including subpoenas, liens, come ups and writs, transmittal of pleadings, status updates to client agencies, notices to adverse counsel and/or cocounseling, and submits for AUSA review and approval prior to filing/issuance.
Maintains AUSAs and court calendars, schedules court reporters, witnesses, and conferences as required.
Answers outside inquiries not requiring legal interpretations and refers other questions to appropriate office members. Exercises judgment and discretion in determining information provided to telephonic inquiries and visitors.

Requires paralegal certificate, or JD, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one year of study, or an equivalent level of legal training or experience; or an equivalent level of education may be substituted.
Additionally at least two years of litigation paralegal experience or project experience (as related to the task order) is required.
At least one year of experience in automated litigation support.
Requires sound working knowledge of federal and state court system, legal research procedures, and legal research resources.
Requires excellent written and oral communication skills and thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw.
Must have hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, imaging, and hardware systems.

RESPONSIBILITES
A closing title agent performs a number of important tasks in the settlement of a real estate transaction.
Researching the title to the property to ensure there are no problems such as undisclosed liens, boundary disputes or errors in public records that could affect the transaction or the buyer's rights in the future.
Should the title agent find any issues, they need to be flagged for resolution, and the agent may need to do some research to settle the transaction.
The agent is also responsible for reviewing all the contracts related to the transaction for accuracy, and flagging and correcting any issues.
This includes all financial information related to the transaction, such as tax and fee amounts, agent commissions and seller payment.
The closing agent also compiles all closing documents for the transaction and arranges and oversees the signing of those documents, and collects the money required for the transaction, such as the escrow deposit, down payment or required fees.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree, preferably in business or another related field.
A certificate in loan and/or real estate closing is beneficial if you're looking for a job in this field as well. Licensed notary is preferred.
3 years of experience which you can gain by working in a real estate, mortgage or title company.
Recent experience in real estate closings/ title insurance.
