Job Overview
Pop Mart is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Business Licensing & Risk Management Specialist to support regulatory preparedness and risk coordination across its North American operations, including both the United States and Canada. This role is primarily responsible for managing and maintaining essential business documentation-such as business licenses, seller permits, and corporate registrations, across applicable federal, provincial, state, county, and municipal jurisdictions. The Specialist will also ensure that all required operating licenses and insurance coverages are properly obtained, renewed, and archived in compliance with local regulations and lease requirements for both physical stores and Roboshops.
What You Will Achieve
Licensing, Permitting & Entity Management
Research, apply for, and maintain all required registration, business licenses, seller's permits, and operating permits at the federal, provincial, state, county, and municipal levels across the U.S. and Canada for offline stores and Roboshops..
Monitor license and permit expiration dates and ensure timely renewals to avoid business interruption.
Coordinate with internal departments (store operations, leasing, real estate, legal, and finance) to confirm licensing and registration needs before store or Roboshop openings.
Select and manage third-party licensing service providers and liaise with internal teams to ensure timely application, renewal, and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
Maintain accurate records of business entity registrations and corporate filings, and liaise with corporate service providers as needed.
Insurance Coordination & Risk Documentation
Maintain internal benchmark insurance standards for lease negotiations (e.g., CGL, property, umbrella, workers' comp, etc.).
Prepare and issue Certificates of Insurance (COIs) for store and Roboshop leases, ensuring timely renewal and archiving.
Select and manage insurance brokers and liaise with internal teams to ensure sufficient coverage and timely policy updates.
Oversee incident reporting, claim documentation, and insurance follow-ups for store locations.
Develop and implement related SOPs and track claims history across business lines.
Ensure company policies align with best practices in risk transfer and indemnity, including waiver of subrogation and third-party coverage handling (e.g., Constructions, logistics vendors, Roboshop operators).
Document Management & Compliance Support
Maintain organized records of all licensing, permitting, registration, and insurance documents.
Support internal audits or regulatory reviews by providing accurate and timely documentation.
Assist in the development of checklists and internal SOPs to ensure regulatory readiness for new locations.
Provide additional administrative and compliance documentation support for the legal team as needed, particularly in relation to operations and regulatory matters.
What You Will Need
3-5 years of experience in business licensing, permitting, insurance coordination, or related compliance/operations support, ideally within the retail industry.
Familiarity with North American business licensing frameworks (particularly U.S. states and Canadian provinces), and insurance documentation processes such as COIs and lease-based coverage requirements.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate with licensing agencies, insurance brokers, or other regulatory entities.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and process-driven, with strong documentation and cross-functional communication skills.
Native or excellent command of English is required; proficiency in additional languages (e.g., Spanish, Chinese) is a plus.

Draft certain motions and pleadings

Prepare and coordinate service of Subpoenas, with Notice to Consumer
Prepare properly formatted templates of briefs, motions, and other filings compliant with the California rules
Proofread briefs, motions, and other filings prior to filing
Assemble appendices and exhibits
Coordinate printing and delivery of briefs, compliant
Communicate with the clerk's offices for the courts
Electronically file briefs and other materials
Organize exhibits, files, and all other supporting documents

Qualifications:
An ABA-approved paralegal certification
Three or more years of working experience as a Paralegal
Knowledge of relevant firm computer software programs (e.g., Word, Outlook, Excel, Clio), with the ability to learn new software and operating systems
Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing
Demonstrates close attention to detail
Ability to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities
Ability to organize and prioritize work
