As an In-Home Aide and Companion, you'll have the opportunity to get to know your clients one-on-one, helping them live a healthy, happy and safe life at home. We're looking for PRN In-Home Aides and Companions (less than 20hrs per week) to float -7a-3p, 10a-6p or 3p-11p between both campuses with every other weekend required. We have also started offering some 12-hour, overnight shifts on top of our regular daytime shifts as well.
What you'll do:
Offer companionship by joining clients on walks or accompanying them on visits
Assist and perform tasks delegated by Campus and Home Care nurses to support clients with their ADLs and IADLs
Assist Home Care clients with activities such as shopping, transportation to appointments and daily tasks that do not require extensive "hands on" care
Support clients with household management tasks, such as caring for their pets, closet organization, light housekeeping, etc.
Communicate changes in a resident's condition to the nurse on duty
Maintain chart documentation, and utilize applicable software to do so
Always practice safety and infection control methods
Protect yourself with proper transfer and lift techniques
Maintain confidentiality and privacy of any PHI per HIPAA requirements
Participate in ongoing education and training offered by Givens and/or outside resources as required
Always practice within your scope of training, license and certification, whilst also adhering to all relevant and applicable policies and procedures
Perform any other duties and/or tasks that may be assigned on an as-needed basis by an authorized supervisor
What you'll need:
High School or GED equivalent is preferred
No evidence of exclusion from the OIG registry
Must be at least 21 years of age
Previous experience in home care, home health, geriatrics or LTC preferred, but not required
Must be able to push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 50 pounds to a minimum height of 3 feet and able to push, pull, move and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 10 feet with or without a mechanical device
Must be able to sit approximately 10% of the time and stand for approximately 90% of the time
Ability to travel frequently, with an active driver's license
Active CPR certificate or willingness to obtain with six months of joining the team
Compensation is $17.00-$18.00 per hour based on experience, plus shift differentials!
