Concert Sound is a client service department on the Oberlin campus. We provide audio, lighting, and staging for various on-campus departments, organizations, and outside clients who use our facilities. We service over 450 events annually, including concerts of multiple genres, lectures, panel discussions, receptions, dinners, weddings, meetings, and sporting events. The events occur in many venues across the college, indoors and out. We have a nightclub that presents rock, punk, and hip-hop shows, a coffeehouse that offers folk and world music, jazz, rock, rap, and the occasional theatrical performance, and several larger venues for our bigger shows. We provide all audio equipment and personnel for these events. There are two full-time staff members and about eighteen student technicians to staff the productions. The Concert Sound Technician will serve the community as part of a team that provides sound reinforcement for campus programs.
