The Wire Harness Assembler is responsible for the assembly of raw parts and sub-assemblies by following in detail our standard work instructions.
* Perform a wide range of complex electronic assembly and soldering operations on low voltage, high voltage, microwave or other components or subassemblies in accordance with military and/or other assembly standards using blueprints, visual aids, wiring lists, verbal and/or written instructions.
* Reads and interprets work instructions to ensure accuracy of work performed.
* Operate semi-automatic equipment such as crimp presses, sonic welder, and wire strippers.
* Routes, wires, and assembles electronic components using wire layout boards.
* Perform visual and dimensional inspections of in-process assemblies and finished products.
* Prep components prior to assembly, clean components, wire bond, potting, seal, mark, and inspect components, subassemblies, or completed assemblies.
* Install electrical or electronic parts and hardware in housings or assemblies, using hand tools.
* Align, fit, or assemble component parts, using hand or power tools, fixtures, templates, or microscopes.
* Capable of being trained across the entire product line and working with Engineering on new or emerging products as well as producing first articles.
* Follow company guidelines and procedures
* Responsible for being an active team participant in teamwork toward continuous improvement.
* May be asked to perform some of the following offline tasks including quality checks, down-time reporting and housekeeping duties.
* Performs other related duties to benefit the mission of the organization.
Required Skills & Qualifications
* 1-3 years' experience in a manufacturing setting, wire harness assembly experience strongly preferred.

Role Overview:
First of three levels of assembler (entry); highly repetitive, simple short-cycle mechanical or electrical assembly of assemblies and sub assemblies. Follows prescribed routine where method of assembly is fairly simple. Assembles parts and devices to support production needs with basic supervision. Requires ability to follow written instructions and basic prints.

Key Responsibilities:
§ Work from blueprints and work instructions to assemble parts into higher level assemblies.
§ Follows all safety guidelines including utilization of proper PPE.
§ Follows proper operating procedures and maintains proper records in accordance within plant management system.
§ Keeps work area clean and organized to insure safety and environmental compliance.
§ Performs checks using variety of gauges and fixtures to ensure conformance to specifications.
§ Demonstrates positive relations and teamwork as established in the IMI Way and Leadership Blueprint within the organization.
§ Note any drawing or instruction discrepancies to the Area Lead/ Supervisor during assembly.
§ Exercise proficient use and safety of basic shop tools (drill press, sandblasting, grinders and de-burring, and hand tools).
§ Perform all operations and instructions related to manufacturing, including Press Operation, Sizing, Notching and Maintaining clean work area.
§ Achieve Quality goals and improve Quality standards, including immediately correcting any defective workmanship.
§ Maintain high accuracy during assembly to provide high quality products.

Critical Competencies for Success:
High school Diploma/GED
6+ months of previous assembly experience in a manufacturing environment
Ability to read basic blueprints

Role Overview:
First of three levels of assembler (entry); highly repetitive, simple short-cycle mechanical or electrical assembly of assemblies and sub assemblies. Follows prescribed routine where method of assembly is fairly simple. Assembles parts and devices to support production needs with basic supervision. Requires ability to follow written instructions and basic prints.
Work Environment: Onsite Saline, MI
* Key Responsibilities:
§ Work from blueprints and work instructions to assemble parts into higher level assemblies.
§ Follows all safety guidelines including utilization of proper PPE.
§ Follows proper operating procedures and maintains proper records in accordance within plant management system.
§ Keeps work area clean and organized to insure safety and environmental compliance.
§ Performs checks using variety of gauges and fixtures to ensure conformance to specifications.
§ Demonstrates positive relations and teamwork as established in the IMI Way and Leadership Blueprint within the organization.
§ Note any drawing or instruction discrepancies to the Area Lead/ Supervisor during assembly.
§ Exercise proficient use and safety of basic shop tools (drill press, sandblasting, grinders and de-burring, and hand tools).
§ Perform all operations and instructions related to manufacturing, including Press Operation, Sizing, Notching and Maintaining clean work area.
§ Achieve Quality goals and improve Quality standards, including immediately correcting any defective workmanship.
§ Maintain high accuracy during assembly to provide high quality products.
§ Soldering
§Perform other duties as assigned.
Critical Competencies for Success:
* High school Diploma/GED
* 6+ months of previous assembly experience in a manufacturing environment
* Ability to read basic blueprints
* Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, ability to learn use of measuring devices, and basic machine tools (e.g., drill press, grinders, sanders, saws, etc.).
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of basic computer skill
Pay range: $20hr
Within this range, individual pay is determined based on skills, experience, and qualifications relative to the job requirements. Base pay information is aligned with market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
