The Vertical Mill Machinist works to set up and operate vertical milling machines for high-accuracy metalwork. You'll handle milling, drilling, boring, tapping, and reaming operations, using your knowledge of materials and machining to plan and execute each job with precision. You'll secure workpieces, set up tools, adjust feeds and speeds, and verify dimensions using micrometers, calipers, and gauges. Travel: This position may require occasional travel to customer sites or local travel to other Paslin locations. Work Environment: This position operates in a manufacturing site environment. This is a safety sensitive role, which includes working around moving equipment and machinery. Physical Demands: The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Candidate Qualifications: 3+ years' experience in a machine tool shop High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred Knowledge of welding and machining techniques Familiar with the set up and operation of lathes, mills, shapers, grinders, boring mills, saws, drills, and other fabrication machinery. Candidates should be able to read and interpret advanced engineering drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerances, and have strong knowledge of mechanical principles, mathematics, and machining procedures.
