Will be required to work every other weekend. 2pm-10:30pm 10pm-6:30am The main function of a maintenance supervisor is to establish, implement, and maintain long-range plans for improvement of maintenance activities and provide technical assistance to the manufacturing departments supported. A typical maintenance supervisor is responsible for the effective use of personnel, materials, and equipment in supporting SPQRC initiatives. Job Responsibilities: • Implement and actively support corporate safety policies, initiatives, and plant housekeeping standards. • Diagnose equipment malfunction, determine root causes, and initiate immediate and long-term corrections. • Support plant in achieving Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness and Cost goals. • Supervise construction and maintenance projects. • Assist in the implementation of divisional and corporate policies. • Maintain schedule and quality requirements. • Implement safety and good housekeeping standards. • Train, develop, and evaluate employees. • Comply with terms of Local and National Labor agreements and supports divisional and corporate policies. • Initiate contact with internal and external teams when required to solve problems. • Implement planned maintenance activities. Complete work assignments required within budget, manpower and timing constraints. • Support plant in achieving Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness and Cost goals. • Supervise construction and maintenance projects. • Maintain schedule and quality requirements. Skills: • Must be willing to work any assigned shift, work daily, weekend, and holiday overtime as required. • Ability to interpret blueprints and engineering drawings. • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical concepts. • Experience in machine, assembly and/or facility areas. • Knowledge of and ability to insure a safe industrial work environment. • Knowledge of basic math including trigonometry. • Knowledge of clerical work, data gathering, machine studies. • Experience in supervision of multi-trade workforce. • Strong knowledge of tooling, manufacturing, assembly processes. • Have successfully completed behavior-based competency assessments- which measure ability to learn, adaptability, initiative, motivational fit, decision making, results orientation, teamwork, empowerment, organization, and planning competencies (DDI inventories and assessments). • High level of analytical ability where problems are complex. • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, motivate, and elicit output. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Knowledge in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. • Knowledge with Lotus Notes or other email communication tools. • Ability to work well with others, exhibiting teamwork skills. • Ability to partner with senior management to analyze and solve issues. • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. The responsibilities of the Service Technician are to service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration systems and equipment. Diagnosing malfunctions and determining repair needs, inspecting, and performing tests on systems and equipment for defective parts and to assure proper functioning. Essential Job Function Customer Service Always present a professional positive and helpful attitude when interacting with customers and co-workers. This position has frequent contact with customers, requiring reasonable tact and strong verbal/written communication skills. Observe additional maintenance needs requiring attention and report to the appropriate people. Basic Functions/Requirements Read and write English. Write legibly. Read a tape measure, perform basic math skills: (Add, Subtract, Fractions, Calculate sales tax) Must have valid Michigan drivers' licenses, good driving record (our insurance must accept you) Paperwork filled out properly daily, including electronic documentation, if applicable. Follow verbal and written instructions. Follow all safety rules. Be able to wear all P.P.E's when applicable (steel toe boots, gloves, safety glasses, hard hat, etc.) Lift, climb, bend, and kneel to complete assigned tasks. Responsibilities Include: * Execute daily Preventive Maintenance (PM) and inspection tasks on production and auxiliary equipment, including but not limited to High Frequency presses, compressors, slitters, and rewinds. * Perform mechanical corrective maintenance and repairs based on business priority and operational necessity. * Troubleshoot, repair, and install mechanical systems and components, including hydraulic and pneumatic systems. * Perform customization and fabrication of conveyor belts and other components per customer specifications. * Maintain accurate and timely documentation of PMs, repairs, parts usage, and system modifications. * Prioritize and implement proactive maintenance strategies to reduce breakdowns and enhance reliability. * Lead and train maintenance team to ensure best practices, adherence to safety protocols, and continuous skills development. * Coordinate and supervise third-party contractors when necessary. * Manage and maintain an organize work environment while ensuring compliance with OSHA, customer-specific standards, and internal safety policies. * Drive continuous improvement initiatives and participate in root cause analysis for equipment failures. * Represent the company professionally during customer site visits and interactions * Respect, protect, support, company culture. * Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations. * Required to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) * Always represent Belt Power in a professional manner * Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Requirements: * Proven experience in industrial maintenance, including troubleshooting, repair, and installation of mechanical systems. * Conveyor belt maintenance and fabrication * Working knowledge of lean manufacturing priciples * Organization and prioritization skills; attention to detail * Strong mechanical background * The ability to interpret and verify precise measurements using a tape measure. * Proficient in reading mechanical schematics and understanding technical manuals * Basic math skills and computer skills * Mechanical Aptitude * Adapt to changing situations * Strong communication skills written and verbal * Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, as well as ability to work at heights and tight spaces * Overtime hours and weekend work may be required * Valid driver's license and clean driving record * Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check * High school diploma or equivalent education Desired Characteristics: * Ability and desire to quickly learn new processes and systems. * Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with colleagues. * Reliability, integrity, accuracy, teamwork, positive attitude, organized, intelligent, proactive, and adaptable. * Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Physical Demands: The Maintenance Technician may lift and / or move up to 50 pounds and will require manual dexterity and strength in arms and feet to manipulate equipment controls. Tools, and other items used to make adjustments and/or minor maintenance. Will use hands, arms, back, and shoulders to handle, installs, position, move items, and manipulate other objects. Could be in a sitting, standing, bending, kneeling, or sitting position for long periods of time. Work Environment: Work is generally performed in a fabrication shop environment. The noise level is moderately loud. Generally well-ventilated and well lit. Shop employees may be required to wear protective clothing. Operation of heavy equipment and strict safety regulations are required. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position in office, shop, and at the customer site. Typical workdays and hours are Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. Frequent travel, overnight, overtime hours, and weekend work may be required.
