Responsibilities
Essential
Participates in training to become a certified Electric Pallet Jack operator.
Keeps accurate counts of stock and supplies.
Keeps all areas behind the lines and in pack clean and free of hazards.
Loads customer's orders on correct pallets and on trailers on the dock, according to BMC.
Cleans and organizes the dock, including sweeping, organizing pallets, etc.

Makes X and W boxes on the box erector, changes over between the two sizes of boxes throughout the shift, and keeps the machine clean of glue, etc.

As a Material Handler, your responsibilities will include:

Warehouse Laborer: Loads and unloads materials for sale and distribution. Position requires a high degree of accuracy, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to lift 60 pounds. The noise of the work environment is usually loud, and the employee will be exposed to outside weather conditions, combustibles, large machinery and mechanical parts.
Loads and unloads materials onto or from trucks, pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand, fork lift, hand truck and/or electric pallet jack, as appropriate.
Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
Loads materials into vehicles to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
Conveys materials from storage sites to designated loading area.
Counts and records number of units of materials moved or handled, breakage and spoilage on appropriate sheets.
Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases and other containers.
Loads and unloads trucks.
Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and wraps bundles together.
Performs housekeeping and grounds maintenance warehouse and sales center offices.
Wears Company provided uniform and presents a professional image to customers and the work place.
Other duties may be assigned by the immediate supervisor or other supervisor at any time.

Job Description
BME Fire Trucks is seeking experienced Material Handlers to be a part of our Inventory Team. This role demands detail-oriented individuals who can manage material movement efficiently, maintain organized inventory areas, and support production needs in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role involves working closely with receivers, pickers, paint and production employees.
As a Material Handler, your responsibilities will include:
Supporting production staff with timely deliveries, part/material returns processing, and inventory problem-solving.
Assisting in the coordination of material and part needs across departments, communicating promptly with the necessary teams.
Performing cycle counts, Organizing and maintaining staging areas, and materials issuing as needed to keep production running smoothly.
Using forklifts to load, unload trailers, and move parts between operations.
Transportation of palletized parts using a pickup truck and flatbed trailer.
Delivering and picking up parts of varying sizes and priorities using company vehicles as needed.
Representing BME professionally when interacting with third-party partners.

WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Previous driving or delivery experience using a truck and trailer
1-2 years of experience in inventory, warehouse, material handling, or similar role.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Prior forklift experience.
Strong communication abilities, with the ability to coordinate across departments effectively.
Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
