Summary of Essential Job Functions:
Review Request for Credit Approval, Write-up and Commitment Letter within 24 hours of receipt of legal file, conduct introductory call to borrower and prepare/send Closing Checklist detailing documentation required for loan closings.
Regularly liaise with federal and state regulators.
Follow up, review and approve all Closing checklist/borrower due diligence items required for loan closing.
Determine what is required to perfect security interest in collateral and decide when loan file is ready to close.

Ensure all required hazard, contents, liability and/or flood insurance coverage has been obtained on industry required forms naming RCL as mortgagee and/or loss payee.
Maintain excellent level of customer service by being responsive to calls and emails from borrower and inside staff regarding loans in process within 24 hours of receipt.
Order appropriate third-party searches (flood, good standing certificates, UCC, title, judgment and bankruptcy) for all borrowers/guarantors.
Compliant with RCL policies/procedures and have knowledge of SBA SOPs and regulations
Prepare and review all required SBA, legal and state specific documents required for loan closing.
Become an integral part of the SBA Closing Team.
Responsible for following updated SBA policy notifications when issued.
Master RCL's construction policy, follow guidelines in notifying SBA of any modifications to the construction project such as but not limited to extension of maturity date, increase or decrease to the loan amount.
Responsible for reviewing site inspection reports for accuracy and process of the project as well as relaying any unforeseen issues to credit and management
Manage productivity by ensuring proper communication with borrower, general contractor and vendors to limit 1 to 2 disbursements per month
Act as liaison between Legal Counsel, Escrow, Title, deal team and all interested parties to coordinate document preparation, loan signing, funding, and closing.
Review and approve closing settlement statements, escrow documentation, insurance, and outstanding loan conditions.
Prepare funding information sheets detailing wiring information and use of loan proceeds.
Coordinate with accounting to assure timely release of wires for loan fundings.
Prepare closing packages of documents and ensure legal file is in compliance with RCL policies before transferring for Compliance Review
Provide assistance with portfolio acquisition due diligence
Adhere to turn time requirements.
Additional duties as requested by Closing Manager.

Commercial Loan Specialist - Edison
Loan officer job in Edison, NJ
The Commercial Loan Specialist is a key support function to the commercial lending team. She/he assists with various commercial loan servicing activities, including but not limited to on-boarding of new and existing customer information, direct follow up with customers for required information, assist lending team with meeting reporting deadlines, database management, site visits and preliminary underwriting and customer interaction and correspondence.
Essential Functions
Address overdrawn accounts situations
Order credit reports on borrowers from Experian as needed.
Perform site visits of customers place of business
Assist team with prep of credit memos with the loan officers for various purposes, including renewals, commitment extensions and loan revisions.
Process servicing requests for existing loan customers, such as statement requests and copies of other documents.
Monitor and report on assigned loan portfolio activity to bank management as requested.
Follow up with borrowers to obtain financial information or documentation
Follow up with borrowers to obtain open items to facilitate the loan closing process.
Obtain environmental report bids and engage vendors
Coordinate with borrowers and branch staff to open required deposit accounts before closing.
Communicate with people outside the organization on a regular basis including borrowers, brokers, and accountants.
Analyze personal credit data and personal financial statements to assist in the completion of Letters of Interest and commercial credit underwriting
Assist with commercial loan/payment collections
Begin the Loan Proposal write up and input as much information as possible, including existing deposit and loan balances, property info, code page info, etc.
Attend loan closing if the loan officer is unavailable, depending on level of experience
Upload all documents and correspondence to Abrigo (financials, LPs, memos)
Move loans to closing once signed commitment letter and fees are received
Assist Portfolio Management with obtaining required financials and related information to complete Annual Reviews
Job Requirements and Qualifications
Job requires strict attention to detail and thoroughness in the completion of job duties.
Job requires analysis of financial information with oversight by a manager
Education and Experience
Associates Degree preferred or related field or equivalent experience
Three years + working at a Commercial Bank or Credit Union
Knowledge of SBA lending programs preferred, but not required

Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing data, files, and records, designing forms, and other office procedures.
Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment including proficiency in Word
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
Ability to speak and write clearly to effectively convey information so that others understand and as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written and oral instructions.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit for long periods of time up to 75% of work hours.
