As a Loan Specialist, you will:
Provide ongoing support to six affiliated banks by servicing the commercial loan portfolio. Support various stages of the commercial loan process-including processing, documentation, closing, and disbursements-by maintaining accurate files, verifying completeness, and reviewing loan and collateral documents for compliance and risk. Monitor, track, and resolve loan exceptions in the system while collaborating with lending staff to address discrepancies and ensure the bank's security interests. Additionally, process financial transactions, contribute to process improvements, and pursue continual learning and development.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide operational support within one or more of the following loan areas: processing, closing, documentation, notes, disbursements, etc.
* Report all identified loan exceptions and escalate risk items.
* Maintain files, documents, notes, etc.
* Verify completeness of files with all necessary documents and signatures required.
* Perform reviews of loan and collateral documents and loan packages to ensure the bank's security interest and adherence to established policies and procedures.
* Update computer systems with pertinent loan information and loan exception information; tracks, monitors and resolves said exceptions.
* Work with lending staff in resolving discrepancies in loan and collateral documentation.
* Process disbursements, collect fees and borrower contributions while balancing with accounting systems.
* Recognize areas for process improvement and contribute ideas to improve the work.
