Conducts interviews with prospective borrowers in order to analyze financial and credit data, determine financing objectives, advice members of product/pricing policies and guidelines, and gather any additional required information. Mortgage Loan Officer Essential Functions & Responsibilities: * Ensures exceptional customer experience by overseeing loan process from origination to close and providing on-going communication to member and business partners. * Prospects new mortgage lending opportunities. Meet with members as necessary during various stages of the loan process. * Achieves production goals as established by 1st Advantage. * Develop and maintain a successful relationship with internal and external business referral sources. Performance Measurements: * Production will be reviewed at least semi-annually and is expected to be $500,000 per month on average. Colleague performance and success in the Mortgage Loan Officer role will be dependent upon meeting or exceeding this production level. * Develop Business Referral Network through marketing, cold calling, prospecting and networking activities. * Meet with prospective borrowers. Review/analyze financial data and determine borrower financing objectives and goals. * Present appropriate 1st Advantage products and programs and explain guidelines. Qualifications: Experience One year to three years of similar or related experience. Education (1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialist training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program. Preparing members for loan application by informing them of the documents they will need to bring to application. Be familiar with and understand all mortgage loan programs and products. To advise their manager of questions they have or of any possible training needs they may have regarding Credit Union programs or the business in general, to ensure members are given the best possible service. Keep informed of changing rules and regulations pertaining to the mortgage industry; and any other affiliates that we deem necessary. Attend educational seminars and networking events offered by complimenting businesses and agencies in our community. Maintain a professional image and standards consistent with credit union policies and procedures. Act in a professional, courteous, respectful manner and provide quality service to internal and external customers, vendors, and members. Handle any problem on the loan files that are not considered routine. The Loan Officer will be apprised of and address any problems on their files involving an upset member, a rejected or suspended file, an unusual underwriting condition, or a matter which the processor is uncomfortable handling or is determined to be critical to the continued success of the process. Maintain designated production levels. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. This Mortgage Loan Officer is a COMMISSION ONLY position. Requirements Experience: Three years to five years of similar or related experience. At least one year as a residential mortgage loan officer highly desired. Education: (1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.
