Firstbank Corp loan originator job description

General Functions:

Supports all financial centers and underwriting groups by preparing loan documentation to be used for new loan granting and loan servicing. Arranges for the remote printing of documentation to the designated site. Assists lender with questions regarding loan origination documentation.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

Reviews lender requests for new loan documentation for all types of loans offered by FirstBank. Independently determines the appropriated documents for that loan type and accurately inputs into loan software system the information required by compliance and legal regulations/guidelines.

Understands the need to meet customer and lender requirements for the time frame within which the documents need to be prepared and delivered for closing. Arranges for the remote printing of completed documents to the site designated by the lender.

Processes loan packages and prepares closing entries.

Is prepared to rapidly revise documents if needed to reflect new information requested by the lender.

Accepts telephone calls and email from lenders to discuss the accurate signing and completion of closing documents and any other loan related information the lender may request. May also schedule loan closings, have close contact with closing attorney, order title exams and appraisals, depending on preference of lender. Refers calls regarding file retrieval to collateral vault specialist.

Prepares documentation, at lender or designee request, for construction loan draws.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Education / Experience Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent education and experience is required. Prior banking/lending experience or exposure is highly desirable. Successful completion of FirstBank compliance certification program.

Knowledge & Skills:

* Demonstrated ability to learn complex information rapidly, i.e., loan compliance regulations and documentation requirements.
* Prior exposure to Argo is desirable.
* Demonstrated ability to work well with co-workers and be composed under pressure.
* Must be accurate, flexible, organized and able to independently manage multiple priorities.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Communicates effectively with customers and all levels of bank employees.
