As a Mortgage Loan Officer, you are responsible for originating mortgage loans and guiding borrowers through the loan process. Key Responsibilities:
Originate mortgage loans, guiding borrowers through the process, ensuring compliance, and providing all vital documentation for underwriting, processing, and funding.

Stay informed on market trends and nuances to tailor the customer and agent experience.
Conduct occasional in-market visits to engage with agents and drive ZHL involvement.
Ensure all transactions follow applicable laws, regulations, and company guidelines.
Maintain active licensing, complete required education/training, and stay current on regulatory changes and loan program knowledge.
This role involves the collection, storage, and use of your voiceprints (records of speech).

Position Overview:

The Loan Boarding Specialist plays a critical role in the accurate and efficient onboarding of all new and renewed loans into the FIS loan servicing system, ensuring data integrity, compliance, and seamless loan management. This position is responsible for meticulously inputting all required loan information, facilitating precise financial transactions, and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, including the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) and Community Reinvestment Act (CRA). The specialist will manage the end-to-end processing of monetary transactions related to loan boarding, loan funding, ensure the proper disbursement of loan funds, and accurately credit income accounts, contributing directly to effective loan servicing and reporting. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, a strong understanding of loan operations, and a commitment to maintaining accurate and compliant loan records.
Essential Job Functions:
Review boarding package to ensure that all documents are received, signed and initialed. Research any discrepancies between the credit approval and the loan documents. Organize all loan documents in the appropriate stacking order and file in the legal file.
Input all loan, commitment, and note information into the loan system, following all policies and procedures. Review all loan documents for special instructions.
Verify rate and disbursement instructions. Complete boarding worksheet to verify that all required information and proper coding has been completed and that all applicable fields have been input.
Process all monetary transactions required, including all disbursements and fees. Perform lien perfection on various types of collateral.
Provide assistance to loan officers and customers by researching and responding to inquiries. Inquiries include researching loan boarding information received through various channels including email, telephone, inter branch and in person.
Professional / Educational Experience
2 - 4 years related experience and/or training.
Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience and/or training demonstrating a strong understanding of financial principles and loan processes.
The hourly pay range for this position is $26.74 to $36.09. In addition to the pay range listed, all bank positions are eligible for incentive compensation, which varies based on role. The Indirect Loan Officer performs the evaluation and processing of indirect auto loan applications submitted through the Credit Union Direct Lending (CUDL) platform. The Indirect Loan Officer researches applicant creditworthiness, maintains strong relationships with dealership partners, collaborates with internal teams, and assists and supports dealers throughout the loan funding process. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Determine credit decisions in accordance with established lending policies and approved credit limits, and maintains awareness of evolving laws and regulations within the auto industry.
Manage indirect lending queues by assessing loan applications while maintaining established service level agreements(SLAs).
Communicate loan approvals and declines with members and dealership partners in a professional manner, providing detailed explanation of credit decisions and outlining potential options for future consideration. Evaluate credit risk and prepare supporting documentation for clinical review, when required.
Collect required loan application components including credit bureau reports, collateral evaluation, member account data, financial statements, tax returns, and other pertinent information to ensure consistent and sound lending decisions.
Open new membership accounts by verifying acceptable identification, confirming eligibility through acceptable documentation, and ensuring proper account funding.
Review loan files for accuracy and completeness, including loan documents, finance contract, buyer's order, title paperwork, insurance information, membership application, acceptable identification, vehicle book out, and ancillary product contracts. Maintain accurate member and loan information in the core system to ensure smooth funding of loan packages.
Proactively and professionally assist in dealer relationship management to support efficient indirect lending operations.
Cross-sell applicable credit union products and aftermarket offerings, such as GAP, warranties, and value adding purchases, to enhance our member's financial future.
Identify and recommend opportunities to streamline or improve systems, processes, and the work environment, and assist with development and maintenance of departmental policies and procedures.
Assist with and will-call member needs that arise to ensure a positive and seamless auto purchase experience.
Support the funding of indirect loans approved by other loan officers, as needed.
Comply with all federal and state laws, as well as organizational policies and procedures, requirements related to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Identity Theft Red Flags, and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). Performs related responsibilities, as required.
