Job responsibilities are as follows:
* Actively seeks opportunities to originate new loan business with new and existing customers.
* Evaluates customer needs to recommend the best consumer loan and voluntary product solutions.
* Completes loan applications, proposals and offers for new borrowers and follows up with pending applicants.
* Assists potential borrowers by explaining the loan process, answering questions regarding loan products and loan processing.
* Takes ownership of customer concerns and works with management to formulate and execute strategies for potential problem loans.

Requirements
* High school diploma or equivalent.

Essential Functions:

Review consumer loan applications and provide information on consumer loan products that best meet the member's needs.

Develop and maintain a strong/expert level knowledge of In-House lending system.
Remain up to date and knowledgeable of all Federal/State lending rules and regulations.
Evaluate credit reports, verify debts, estimate monthly payments and establish member's creditworthiness, stability and ability to repay loan in an effort to make a strong lending decision. The evaluation process will also consist of calculating different lending ratios.
Determine collateral needs and payment plans for members applying for routine loans.
Serve as a member of the Loan Review Committee to decision complex/higher risk loans.
Notify Branch Manager and FSRs of loan decision. Correspond with Branch Manager and FSRs to resolve questions regarding initial and follow up loan application information. Explain reasons for approval, counter offer and denial. Explore and convey options for members when loans are denied.
Review regulations as they apply to installment loan security agreements.
Underwriting requires judgment to apply broader aspects of established practices to situations, which go beyond clear, concise guidelines.
Underwriters must understand and are accountable for executing all job functions in a way that is consistent with all requirements for Federal/State regulatory guidelines, BSA, OFAC and the USA Patriot Act/Customer Identification Act (CIP). Note: Failure to comply with requirements may be subject to strong disciplinary action, up to and including termination by the credit union, as well as civil and criminal penalties.

The Mortgage Disclosure Specialist is responsible for preparing initial disclosures (and redisclosures) within 3 days of TRID application date, ensuring they are delivered accurately and timely, and fully complying with all applicable regulatory requirements. This will be accomplished through teamwork and excellent verbal and written communication.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare and review Initial Disclosures within 3 days of TRID application date. Files received within the first and second days of TRID date should be reviewed and disclosed within 24 hours or as early as possible after received.
Prepare and send all redisclosures, within 3 days of change of circumstance, per system or processor notifications.
Review Dashboards daily to confirm all disclosures have been disclosed to meet TRID timing.
Review Loan Origination dashboards and pipelines to ensure all pre-quals meet required disclosure timelines.
Validate eDisclosed loans that have not been acknowledged and send hard copies of disclosures in compliance with regulations.
Run Mavent Preview Compliance Reports and inform originators of any Alerts or Fails.
Order Flood Certifications, USPS/Address Verifications, PMI quotes and initial Fraudguard.
Send daily reports and follow up on receipt of Notice of Intent for all disclosed files.
Review forms, disclosures, and other documents to validate information and ensure compliance for all loans (including non-Originated Loans submitting to Compliance).
Monitor closing cost templates and state specific rules for updates to maintain and ensure accurate fees are disclosed. Proactively research when changes are identified to prevent disclosure errors and associated monetary losses/cures.
Assist with maintaining written procedures and updated checklists, making recommendations to Mortgage Disclosure Manager of ways to improve quality and efficiency.
Communicate with Originators, Mortgage Disclosure Manager and Secondary Marketing Teams regarding any compliance alerts, pricing, and/or data entry discrepancies within the loan file in Encompass.
Ensure loans disclosed adhere to BankPlus, regulatory, agency and investor guidelines to be sellable into the secondary market by maintaining thorough knowledge of information and reviewing information furnished by the Mortgage Disclosure Manager.
Participate in the bank's High-Performance Rewards Connections program.
Maintain a thorough knowledge of Bank products, services, policies, procedures, and appropriate regulatory issues as related to daily job functions including, but not limited to the following: Bank Secrecy Act; Privacy Act: Fair Lending Act; Regulation E, etc. Complete required compliance training (when assigned) and adheres to the bank's standard of conduct.
