Job Description:
We are a nationwide mortgage lender specializing in residential and commercial lending. The entry-level CD Originator is responsible for finalizing the total costs associated with buying or refinancing real estate for borrowers and preparing closing documents. This position is part of the Closing/Post closing team at Lower.
What you'll do:
Prepares closing disclosure using Closing software with accuracy conforming to terms of loan in our loan origination system.
CD originators must verify collection of necessary property taxes and/or insurance information sufficient to meet our investors guidelines. As well as any outstanding invoices necessary to be paid to complete our loan transaction.
Verifies accuracy and consistency of specifications on documents, such as title abstract and insurance forms.
Reviews Closing Disclosure (CD) to ensure all fees are accurate including compliance of underwriter's cash from borrower requirements, etc.

The Impact You Will Have
The Loan Servicing division is responsible for servicing loans either acquired or underwritten by the company. As loan servicer, the company is responsible for enforcing the terms of the loan documents, monitoring the underlying asset securing the loan and communicating results to investors and other servicing relationships. This position is in the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac servicing group.
Primary Responsibilities
Reviewloan documents to confirm that new loans are setup correctly on servicing system and ensure that the loans are serviced in accordance with terms of the loan documents and programmatic requirements.
Communicate loan requirements to borrowers.
Provide excellent customer service to borrowers and serve as the central point of contact for all servicing related inquiries.
Track and collect mortgage payments timely as required by the terms of the loan documents and work diligently to collect any delinquent mortgage payments.
Review and manage tax, insurance, as needed to ensure proper collateralization and compliance with loan documents. Prepare disbursements on escrow accounts as needed.
Manage escrow accounts including oversight of all escrow analysis.
Monitor and process tax disbursements from escrow.
Prepare written correspondence to borrowers or other parties as required.
Support senior staff for problem loan management, maturity management and other non-routine matters.
Obtain Lender approval for loan payoffs and prepare loan payoff statements.
Assist in automating tasks within the Department as necessary.
Handle additional projects as assigned.
Communicate and problem-solve daily with teammates, clients, vendors, and other stakeholders, possibly in combination with travel.

We are currently hiring experienced Mortgage Loan Originators (MLO) or Teams who proactively identify, develop and maintain a quality network of external relationships and COI's that serve as a source of referrals for new mortgage lending opportunities. The Mortgage Loan Originator performs a wide range of duties related to the origination of residential mortgage loans while providing excellent customer service and effectively managing the pipeline.
Position Responsibilities
Market residential mortgage loan products to real estate agents, prospective homebuyers and/or builder sales representative.
Spend 25% or more of the workday conducting marketing activities and closing business outside of the work-site (including home office).
Originate loan applications ensuring correct pricing, fulfillment of investor guidelines, compliance with federal and state banking credit, and non-discrimination regulations.
Assist the processor in securing needed documentation as required for loan approval.
Constantly review investor guidelines, in order to remain current with agency (FNMA, FHLMC, GNMA, MHF) and individual investor guidelines.
Maintain high levels of customer service while managing each applicant's and support staffs expectations.
Minimum Education & Experience
A minimum of 3 years' work experience originating residential mortgages.
Experience in originating loans for sale to FNMA, FHLMC, GNMA and/or CDA preferred.
Experience using a mortgage loan management system is required; Encompass experience highly preferred.
Technical Knowledge and Skills
Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Individuals will be required to develop leads and originate mortgage loans through branches, realtors, and builders, and respond to referrals from branch personnel and others. Additionally, candidates should have an understanding of the mortgage regulations and processes as well as other bank products and services in order to deepen relationships with customers. Applicants must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, exercise independent judgment and comprehend complex instructions, technical and financial materials and forms related to assigned duties. The MLO must meet production standards developed by management.
Responsibilities:
Develop, lead and originate mortgage loans through branches, realtors and builders.
Interview mortgage loan applicants.
Take loan applications from customers.
Send applicant's file to processors in the centralized loan support area.
Respond to referrals from branch personnel and others.
Assist in obtaining additional data or information when requested by processors.
Cross-sell all bank products and services.
Education / Experience Preferred:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience, MBA or Master's Degree preferred.
2+ years of lending experience preferred.

Must be able to work autonomously exercising considerable independent judgment.
Must be able to maintain composure in stressful situations.
