We are currently seeking a Loan Disbursement Specialist to join our Construction Disbursements Team located in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah.
The Construction Disbursement Administration (CDA) group is responsible for managing roughly 200 commercial construction projects simultaneously. We work with multiple departments around the Bancorp to ensure that construction is progressing properly and all agreements within the loan documentation are being followed by all parties. We have currently switched to a new construction monitoring system and are working to streamline and improve our processes in all aspects of construction monitoring. The Salt Lake City group works closely with one another and we maintain a collaborative mentality when monitoring the construction loans assigned to us. We are looking for someone who is willing to work hard and jump in with both feet into our team and help us maintain our high standards of service within the department.
The Disbursement Specialist will:
* Review, analyze and process customer loan draws for commercial and residential construction projects, loan fund disbursements, equity draws, etc., including review of invoices, lien waivers, and budget.
* Prepare payoff quotes, credit bids, default letters and loan modifications.
* Schedule and direct pre-construction discussion with Borrower, Builder, and RM when requested.
* Administer participation loans, coordinate with participating/lead bank(s).
* Order, input, and review inspection reports.
* Updates and maintains various reports and ticklers for loan maintenance.
* Assists with and may serve as liaison with lenders, loan administration, and outside vendors.
* Monitor and may process interest rate changes.
* Review loans for past due status, insurance coverage, tickler exceptions, etc.
* Ensure loan administration is consistent with loan documents, bank and department policies and procedures.
* Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
* Some experience with commercial, construction or loan servicing process and procedures, loan documentation or processing or other directly related experience.
* Basic knowledge of lending disbursement processes, procedures and loan documentation.
* Basic knowledge of standard construction budget and loan servicing practices and techniques.
* Must have good audit, problem solving, data entry and customer service skills.
* Ability to review and process data per loan documentation.
* Good time management and organizational skills.

GENERAL SUMMARY
Under supervision of the Department Supervisor or Manager, and following established policies and procedures, perform duties related to servicing the Bank's consumer loan portfolio according to separation of duties established by the Department Manager including but not limited to the essential functions described below.

GENERAL SUMMARY
As a "subject matter expert", will provide training, guidance, and encouragement to less experienced bankers/MLOs in a designated region of branches. Following established policies and department procedures, responsible for loan production and processing to support fee income growth and provide the highest level of expertise and client service. To be able to work with branches and clients and provide excellent client service. Assess mortgage needs of clients and provide various beneficial Cathay Bank mortgage products. Primarily responsible for supporting the SCA Region 3/4 branches whenever a need for a mortgage loan is required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Travel to assigned Branches and assist clients who are interested in residential mortgages. Provide expertise and address questions, resolve problems, and identify ways to meet the client's financial needs.
Assist clients to complete loan applications. Gather information and process each file from initial approval to closing in a timely manner.
Act as a liaison between branches, underwriter, closing agents and other related parties.
Follow up with clients and related parties on outstanding loan conditions, provide assistance to resolve processing problems.
Ensure the timely and accurate processing of all loans.
Submit accurate information that constitutes a complete loan application as required by regulations.
Input correct loan information into the system for processing. Ensure that all loan documentation is complete, accurate, verified and complies with Bank policy.
Maintain pipeline report and notify management of status as needed.
Assist branch personnel in cross-selling other bank products and services, to ensure an outstanding client experience for existing and prospective clients.
Assist branches to organize and conduct mortgage seminars as needed.
Participate with real estate affiliated organizations to help promote the bank and the banks products.
Must be knowledgeable with all bank products with a proven track record in loan closings.
Network with Real Estate Agents for referrals.
If schedule permits, maybe be asked to travel to other regions, in state and out of state to assist in mortgage origination and training.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Education: Associates Degree preferred.
* Experience: Minimum 3 years mortgage lending and banking experience with good knowledge of lending regulations and loan processing in a multi-state lending environment.
* Skills/Ability: Organized and detail oriented. Able to develop working knowledge of Bank's credit policies and approval process for assigned loans. Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, high production environment. Strong organizing and problem-solving skills; strong written and verbal communication skills; must be able to adapt well to a fast paced and constantly changing business environment; PC proficient at the intermediate level; demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented environment; demonstrated ability to provide good client service; Bilingual is a plus.
* Licensing: Must possess an active registration or be eligible for registration under the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (NMLS) within 90 days of hire.

$31.25 - $38.46 / hour
Pay determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
This position may be eligible for a discretionary bonus.
