    Responsible for setting the strategy, governance, and execution of enterprise HR reporting, analytics, and data management across all HR systems, with a primary focus on Workday. This role oversees the design, development, optimization, and maintenance of complex reports, dashboards, integrations, and data models that enable business leaders to make informed, data‑driven decisions. As a key thought partner to HR, Technology, and business stakeholders, the Leader ensures reporting solutions align with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and evolving business needs. The role drives data quality initiatives, enhances reporting capabilities, and leads continuous improvement of the HRIS reporting ecosystem. This Leader oversees Workday reporting releases and regression testing efforts; governs data standards; ensures accuracy and integrity of HR data; and provides deep subject‑matter expertise in advanced reporting tools-including PRISM, SQL‑based data extraction, and visualization platforms such as Power BI. The position ensures all activities are performed in accordance with company policies, HR technology strategy, and state and federal laws. Responsibilities: * Develops and maintains simple to complex Workday reports (advanced, matrix, composite, BIRT) utilizing Workday Report Writer and Report Designer, as well as other organizational tools and available technologies; constructs and maintains reporting in PRISM. * Ensures processes are in place to maintain integrity and accuracy of all data input, managed and reported through the core HRIS including conducting regular data audits to ensure the integrity of data within the HRIS systems. * Provides technical support, troubleshooting, and guidance to staff for all HRIS modules including Core HR, Payroll, Time and Attendance, and Recruiting. * Maintains a deep knowledge of trends and developments within the organization's HRIS systems and recommends new features that may provide efficiency. * Write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction and validation across HR systems. * Build dashboards and visualizations in Power BI to communicate HR metrics and trends. * Performs report maintenance, revisions and scheduling on a regular basis; troubleshoots reporting issues and escalates issues when needed. * Develops and maintains Workbooks in Drive and develops report catalogs using tags to assist end users with finding reports. * Partners with stakeholders (internal/external to HR) to understand report/data requirements, ensuring results meet the business needs. * Collaborate with team members to identify system improvements, and with functional/technical staff on the application of upgrades/fixes; troubleshoots end-user log-on and other system access issues. * Reviews system upgrades/releases to determine overall business impact, conducts regression testing and makes recommendations for future enhancements/functionality. * Participates in Workday Community by researching, contributing to content, voting on Brainstorms, etc. * Maintains awareness of current trends in HR processes, learning methods and systems with a focus on product and service development, delivery and support. * Directs the development and maintenance of advanced Workday reports (Advanced, Matrix, Composite, BIRT) and PRISM datasets; ensures scalability, accuracy, and alignment with business needs. * Oversee dashboard and visualization creation using Power BI to deliver HR metrics, trends, and insights to executives and functional leaders. * Provides expert guidance on leveraging Workday-delivered reports versus developing custom solutions. * Establishes and enforces data governance policies, naming conventions, security standards, and documentation requirements across HR systems. * Ensures regular data audits, validation routines, and quality checkpoints to uphold data accuracy and compliance. * Serves as the escalation point for complex data issues, root cause analysis, and long-term remediation. * Evaluates Workday releases, assesses system impacts, and leads regression testing while partnering with HRIS and Business Technology teams. * Identify opportunities to automate processes, enhance reporting capabilities, and streamline data workflows. * Works closely with HR Centers of Excellence, HR Operations, Payroll, Talent, and IT to understand reporting requirements and translate them into sustainable solutions. * Advises leaders on data strategy, workforce insights, and opportunities to improve decision making through analytics. * Oversee optimization of SQL queries, Workday PRISM ETL structures, and integration dependent reporting components. * Ensures the team provides high quality support, troubleshooting, and systems expertise across HR modules (Core HR, Payroll, Time, Recruiting). * Represents HR Technology in cross functional forums, driving alignment on data needs, priorities, and system evolution. * Participates in Workday Community by researching, contributing content, voting on brainstorms, and maintaining external awareness of platform innovations. Tracks expenditure requests against department and project budgets, identifying which expenses are and are not pre-approved to move forward. Presents periodic and month-end reports on budgeted vs. actual expenses, inclusive of internal and external labor data; analyzes and explains potential discrepancies. Partners with Technology leadership to support and provide analytics on business performance initiatives. Shares expertise with other on team, facilitating the development of others on the team as well as others in the broader Technology organization. Performs other duties and projects as assigned. Requirements Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience and a minimum of six (6) + years of budgeting & forecasting experience preferably within an IT department. Experience using ServiceNow (or another workflow system). Expert experience using Excel. This position operates on a hybrid schedule and is based in Irvine, CA. Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role.
