About this Role
R.R. Cassidy is seeking a reliable and skilled Job Site Driver (CDL) to join our team. This position plays a critical role in supporting job site operations by transporting equipment, materials, and crew as needed. The ideal candidate will have experience operating heavy equipment, driving commercial vehicles, and assisting with general labor tasks to keep the job site running smoothly.
Candidates will be required to do groundwork to help crews out as needed.
Candidates must be willing to travel throughout the Southeast United States 80%-100% of the time.
Applicants must also be willing to drive to our Prairieville location for 1 week of training and before the start of each hitch.
Hotels and travel expenses are paid for by the Company while on a job. Meals are covered by $50/day per diem. Transportation methods are provided by the company leaving from the Prairieville, LA location.
What You'll Do
Operate and drive commercial vehicles such as water trucks, dump trucks, and equipment haulers.
Transport heavy equipment and materials safely and efficiently to and from job sites.
Assist with loading and unloading equipment and supplies.
Provide general labor and operational support on-site as needed.
Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
Follow all safety regulations, company policies, and DOT requirements.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and crew members to coordinate transportation and job site needs.
What You'll Bring

The Ready Mix Truck Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the ready-mix truck used for delivery of concrete to customers. This takes place in a variety of settings and conditions including uneven ground and extreme weather. The Driver is responsible for conducting pre and post trip inspections to maintain the truck and each Driver is expected to keep their truck clean.
Key Responsibilities:
Safe and efficient delivery of concrete to customers at job sites
Maneuver truck into loading position for filling at the plant(s) and unloading positions at job sites
Operate mixer to produce concrete from sand, gravel, cement and water; adjust mixture (slump) as requested by customers, QC Manager/Techs, or Sales Team before leaving the plant and at job sites
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, report any issues or concerns to Fleet manager and/or mechanics
Fill out delivery paperwork, collect payment from customers when required and keep records of daily activities; ensure customers sign appropriate paperwork at the time of delivery
Driver is responsible for the clean and professional appearance of truck
Must fuel up truck after last delivery for the day to ensure seamless operations the following day

Qualifications:
All Ready-mix Truck Drivers must have at time of hire and maintain throughout employment an up-to-date DOT Physical
3+ years with either a Class A or Class B CDL; previous experience with a ready mix cement truck or other similar power take-off vehicles is preferred
Drivers must be registered with the FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse
Drivers must have a clean FMCSA Pre-employment Screening with no DUI's or DWI's in the last 5 years and no more than 2 moving violations in the previous 2 years
TWIC card is a plus
Physical Requirements:
Drivers must be physically and mentally able to drive safely; fatigue, medications, and physical injuries may inhibit a driver's ability to safety operate Commercial Vehicle
Must pass pre-employment drug screen

Drivers will be running a mix of dry and refrigerated NO TOUCH freight in a 350 mile radius of the DC. States served will include LA, TX, MS, AL and FL. 1700-1800 MPW. A typical workday will include 1-3 routes per day with 1-3 stops each and potentially a 10 hour break on the road each week. Drivers on this account are home daily.
MUST BE WILLING TO WORK NIGHTS AND WEEKENDS
Requirements:
·Must have a minimum of 3 full months solo verifiable Class A tractor trailer driving experience. Driver cannot have any preventable CMV accidents during this time and can be with no more than 2 carriers during this time.
· We will also accept 6-12 months solo OTR experience in the last 3 years and 6 months local experience in the last 12 months.
· Must have a very good BG and MVR and must be able to pass ALL DOT related pre-screenings. Stable job history required.
Drivers will work a 6 day work week and are off for a 34 hour reset weekly during the week. Once you arrive on site, your TM will meet with you to coordinate your weekly scheduled days off.
Drivers will slip seat in a day cab and will need a reliable personal vehicle to and from the DC. Our DC has 24/7 on-site staff, including safety support and a shop. Newer automatic tractors. All trucks receive a pre-seat 6 point inspection and are cleaned thoroughly before new dedicated drivers are seated after completing orientation.
On the job training will consist of in-classroom training for 1 day and 2-3 days of ride-along training at $100 per day.
