RESPONSIBILITIES: Work involves all shifts including weekends in company trucks, delivering orders to our customers and checking them for accuracy. Responsible for following all DOT regulations, including pre-trip and post-trip inspections, properly maintaining your log book and/or e-logs, and reporting any deficiencies in your equipment. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduate or equivalent. Class A Commercial Driver's License and 1+ years of Tractor/Trailer driving experience. Dependable and safety conscious. About the role We are seeking a courteous and friendly Transport Driver who can deliver excellent customer service consistently. The Gurney Van Driver will operate a gurney van equipped to provide nonemergency transport of mobility- impaired individuals to and from hospitals, convalescent facilities, private homes, dialysis units, doctor's offices, rehabilitation centers, etc. in a safe and timely manner. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: • Picks up patients at home or other facility. Provides the assistance required to safely board patients and caregivers. • Operates Stryker gurney as needed for safe and comfortable patient transportation. • On arrival at medical facility, assists patients in exiting the van and reaching the proper offices or treatment areas. • Checks the van to ensure that no personal items are left behind. • Provides first-aid or CPR if required during patient transport. Immediately notifies emergency staff and dispatcher if skilled assistance is required. • Completes reports at the end of a shift. • Immediately reports traffic accidents to dispatcher, requesting police or ambulance service as needed. Assists injured persons from first-aid kit until these services arrive. Completes company accident reports. • Checks all equipment for future readiness, maintains van in operable condition, ensures van cleanliness and orderliness of equipment and supplies, decontaminates vehicle interior after each transport. • Completes a thorough vehicle maintenance inspection prior to vehicle operation. • Maintains positive behaviors, attitudes and commitments to interpersonal service in regard to customer, visitors, and coworkers. • Performs related duties as assigned by management, supervisor, or dispatch. Safety and security are huge priorities at GardaWorld Cash, so you will be expected to follow the highest levels of driver safety in all weather conditions and be vigilant in all areas for our customers, your colleagues, and the community. All positions are armed, so you will be required to have and maintain the necessary licenses for your area to work as an armored truck driver/messenger. WHO YOU ARE: 21 years of age or older with a valid and clean driver's license Have or be able to obtain and maintain active guard and firearm permits or licenses on a current basis as required by state regulations. Have strong customer service skills and can communicate effectively in person and by radio. Are willing to operate large vehicles in all weather and traffic conditions. Heavy lifting required (50lbs+)
