Job Responsibilities
+ Transport freight in safe and prompt manner
+ Interact with our clients and customers in a professional and courteous manner with limited supervision
+ Comply with Department of Transportation regulations and laws
+ Maintain responsibility for safety and security of company equipment and customer goods
+ Load and unload trailers and move freight across the terminal dock, either individually or with the assistance of a co-worker, with or without mechanical freight handling equipment, as required.
+ Record quantity and type of shipments using bills of lading, delivery receipts, and tally sheets.
+ Maintain records required for compliance with state and federal regulations.
+ Hook and unhook trailers from tractors, including cranking levers to raise and lower landing gear.
+ Fuel trucks and tractors.
+ Perform all other work-related duties as assigned.

Position Purpose:
Responsible for safely transporting hazardous and non-hazardous materials from the customer site to the appropriate designated sites using van trailers, straight trucks, flatbeds, tankers, roll-off frames, or other waste carrying equipment. Ensures that the condition of the material packaging meets the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) specifications, inspects manifests and shipping paperwork for accuracy, and maintains current transportation permits for all areas traveled. Abides by all regulations set forth by DOT, EPA, state and local governments, and VES-TS policies and procedures.
Primary Duties /Responsibilities:
Perform daily inspections of vehicle and/or trailer prior to driving to ensure the safety and integrity of equipment going to designated sites.
Prior to transporting materials reviews shipment records, manifests, container labeling, vehicle placards, and integrity of loaded drums, roll-off boxes or bulk tankers.
Driving within the local market, ensures that DOT requirements such as load weight limits, driver log books, Vehicle Inspection Records, transportation permits, insurance cards, fuel trip reports, IFTA fuel stickers, or other paperwork is up to date and valid.
Consults with customers pertaining to load conditions, drum counts or paperwork inconsistencies to ensure that materials can be properly transported to designated site(s).
Notify immediate supervisor of any moving violations and/or accidents in-route to and/or from sites.
Assist in the loading/unloading of materials at designated sites utilizing appropriate equipment. 7. Responsible for assisting with housekeeping as required.

Using your stellar forklift and/or pallet jack driving skills you safely transport pallets of product from one location to another bin location or onto empty trailers for intercampus transfers and faithfully conduct pre-shift inspections.

What You'll Bring:
3 to 5 years of experience working in a warehouse (Min 2 years required, 3-5 years preferred)
2 years of forklift driver experience, with current certification (Required)
Experience with warehouse management systems, utilizing scanner technology and data entry into desktop required
Knowledge of basic arithmetic and mathematics; required
Fluent in English for both written and verbal communication
Driven to learn other aspects of the business, a Team player willing to perform other functions outside of designated role or shift
M-F, First Shift 5:00am-1:30pm, plus overtime as needed
Lift up to 50 lbs
Stand, walk, bend, twist for up to 8 hours
Payrate: $23.80/ hour
