LocationVBEMS Van Buren Emergency Medical ServicesTitle(VBEMS) Van Driver - PRN Status The Transport Van Driver serves as a member of non-emergency transports by wheelchair van. Employees providing direct patient care must demonstrate competencies specific to the population served. H.S. Diploma or Equivalent. Completion of CPR Certification and First Aid is required prior to end of VBEMS orientation. Completion of orientation is 40 hours. Possess a valid State of Michigan Driver's License with a good driving record (no convictions and no more than 6 points in the past 2 years) Driving your own vehicle on a regularly scheduled basis to perform business on behalf of Bronson is required for this position and will require successfully pass of MVR check after an offer of employment has been made but prior to the employee's start date. Ability to read and write English language. Must have legible handwriting. Ability to speak Spanish preferred. Demonstrates tact and good judgment. Possess the ability to work under pressure in difficult situations. Mental ability to assess quickly a scene and patient, to make decisions regarding resources needed and level of medical care needed. Work which produces levels of mental/visual fatigue which are typical of jobs that perform a wide variety of duties with frequent and significant uncontrollable deadlines. Work may include the operation of and full attention to a personal computer or CRT up to 40 percent of the time. Drivers are also required to perform inspections before and after a trip, and load and unload products from the trailer to customer facilities.
